but it's said the story will revolve around a group of
shipwrecked guys on an island full of cannibals.

- Filming is said to begin in New Zealand and Australia sometime in 2010.
- The title "Vanikoro" would suggest the film's storyline takes place in what's known as the Vanikoro Islands, which is an island group in the Solomon Islands.
- Loosely based on the real-life French explorer Jean-Francois de Galaup, who disappeared along with his crew in the late 1700's. This film is a fictional tale detailing what might have happened to them.
