Most every seasoned fan of modern horror is bound to have heard of "the rules" as they are outlined in Wes Craven's Scream: "No sex, no drugs, no saying cliches"... plus, many other unsaid things such as "don't be a jerk or a doomsayer" that are apparent in many other horror flicks... ...As awful and in some cases possibly harmful as some of this stuff can be, I hardly think it's truly justification for being slashed . It certainly helps you sympathize with victims when their biggest sin is "teen-party-mania", but at the same time since many times we are meant to cheer at the gory death scenes along with gasping at them, you wonder why there aren't more dicks we could really do without in horror films such as...

Xavier, Obi, Rex, and others from the Saw series - Unlike many others the Jigsaw killer targets for "not appreciating their lives," these fellows were pretty clear threats towards the lives of others, threats that likely wouldn't have stopped any time soon.

Science chick from The Gravedancers - Debatable, but when you see your acquaintences are in tangible danger from a supernatural force, you don't do things that could possibly keep that force coming! Certainly this was an error of judgement, not malicious on her part, but when she kept some of the remains from their resting place, she took her life into her own hands as well as all the others she endangered.

Honestly that's about all that comes to mind right now, but I'm just waking up . Anyone more alert with examples?

That douchebag in all the Friday the 13th movies. More recently in the new one, the rich guy who's parents own the vacation house. He should always die first.

Yeah, but, that brings up a good point... Laurie and Loomis both deserved to die because they were the bastard child of Rob Zombie and they were the utter opposite of the characters that we know and love.

Thinking back on it, those petty thefts/murders from the Old Chief Wooden Head segment in Creepshow 2. I hated them so much for murdering that old couple, I was rooting for the chief to off them off.

Sam White Moon! I love Creepshow 2, and I agree with you. I think Sam definitely deserved it more than anyone, as he's the one that actually pulled the trigger and he seemed to be the leader of the group; almost forcing everyone else to do what he says.

Which is why I am so happy he got scalped. His father or uncle was probably happy as a clam when he found out he died.
