Here are a few examples of peoples opinions on the differences between the two.

A ghost is someone who has passed on and is "stuck" between the physical world and the Afterlife. They do not cross through The Light to go on to the Afterlife, but stick around in this "netherworld" for one reason or another.

A spirit is a person who has passed on, but has actually gone through The Light and into the Afterlife. There they go through a life review learning process, and after that, are able to come and go between the Afterlife and our physical world.

Spirits come back to watch over us, and to comfort us. Ghosts do not.

We are very often asked what, if any, difference is there between Ghosts & Spirits. Well, I suppose to a certain degree you could suggest that they are one and the same, they are both essentially made of the same thing, energy.

However, a ghost is normally depicted as something that haunts people or places and therefore gives off a feeling of fear. The dictionary defines a ghost as "The Spirit or semblance of a dead person, believed to visit or haunt living people". Not very pleasant sounding, we know, but don't you remember as a child you would have been afraid of ghosts because it was always 'ghost stories' you heard, never 'spirit stories'!

Unhappy ghosts such as these are often called Poltergeists. They feed off of our fear. This means that to get our attention they will do things to make us feel uncomfortable, or frightened, if you like. For example, banging doors, things dropping off walls etc.. It's all to get themselves noticed, and, once we acknowledge them without fear, and try to understand why they're about, things will calm down.

Spirit on the other hand, in general, are much more subtle in their approach. You may get the shivers or feel very hot as one draws near. You may feel tingles, as if someone is touching your arm, hand or shoulders for example. They can be mischievous, but never harmful. They too will try different ways of getting our attention, but not normally anything that makes us feel uneasy. Another example (and this happens to most people we know) is that things will go missing and miraculously reappear again a few days later. Usually a very good sign that spirit are around!

Spirit are usually here to guide us, whether it be the spirit of a physical person that we once knew (e.g. a late parent or grandparent) or a learned guide from ancient times (maybe an Indian or Egyptian) and so they may bring messages of comfort or advice.

Ghosts on the other hand don't have anything much to contribute (except making us jump!) until they have accepted what's going on and have perhaps been helped to happily pass into the next realm!
a ghost is something or someone that has unfinished business, or has a fear of death.

A spirit is something that was created in that existence, usually connected with nature or the six elements, water, fire, earth, air, light, darkness.

Why didnt you just post up the links for the sites you took this from? Instead of cutting n pasting the whole works here as if it were your own? If you were using it for educational purposes you only needed a couple of the paragraphs and left the links for the rest. But if you were as educated in the occult and paranormal like you tried to make everyone here think you were, then you wouldnt need to use someone elses completed works for demonstration purposes as your own.

Heres the links folks:

lmfao
I don't read websites about investigations, or about the "Difference between" whatever I'm reading about when it comes to the Paranormal very often. There are WAY to many people in the World who think they are an expert in this shit just because they once went to a building that was a hundred years old, and they write EVERYTHING as though it were facts. Whatever I say on here, I have either learned on my own, or heard from people I would trust in this field. Web sites are to un-controlled with information to be something I'd want to look into.

That and 200,000 people will take a picture of an Orb, and say "Look, a Ghost".... An Orb isn't a Ghost. An Orb, is an Orb. A Ball of light basically. And so many things can come up in pictures or film as an Orb that I don't really look at them much. I think they are interesting obviously, but when you see Wings and Legs on it, and someone says it's an Orb or something... Well....You know.
