So this is probably one of the better remakes of a 1950s classic. It tells the story of Seth Brundle and his new invention of a teleporter. However, after some newly founded girlfriend issues he decides to test the machine on himself but a fly gets caught in the machine... resulting in this:
I LOVED this movie. It's haunting, it's frightening, its operatic, it's funny and it's heartbreaking. Never before in a horror movie have I ever felt like crying at the end than in this movie. This movie is flawless. Hell, if you look real deep into this movie... it's a Shakespearean tragedy. It's almost an homage to Frankenstein!

Oh God! Lovely film! Made me cry man....
I feel ashamed to say this but I've never seen the fly.
yes it was rather sad but a pretty decent movie

Be it the remake or the original... you must leave now. Run. Rent it. Buy it. See it.
Lol I was at best buy yesterday and I'm pretty I didn't see it there or else I would of gotten it.
When you do finally see either of them... tell us how you liked or hated them.
Good movie... You should watch it!
Classic Cronenberg right here. Look into Videodrome and Naked Lunch, too. Good shit all around.

this and all i would add is without jeff goldblum(who is flawless in this) in the lead here i dare say and so believe this movies would have been a huge failure he delivers the goods and more jmo
Very good movie, but the Help me, Help me scene in the original movie has to be in the top ten horror movie scenes of all time

I'm in agreement on both counts.
the arm wrestling scene still gets me! great film! Like carpenter's the thing, this remake was taken to another level both story wise and cinematically!

While it's undeniable that Goldblum was fantastic, I think the movie still would have been great Cronenberg turned the movie into a tragic stage-play that had character and outstanding special effects. It's really Cronenberg's direction that made the film so good.
