Everyone rags Avatar about its story, but really every story has been told before. You could pick apart almost any movie that way.

Oh, and legendary actress Lauren Bacall tweeted the following this morning:

Quote:Also Why was Twilight in the horror montage? They could have made room for horror masterpieces like Freaks (1932), Eraserhead (1977)...
...Repulsion (1965), The Masque of the Red Death (1964) or The Black Cat (1934) which I didn't see at all and that's just unforgivible.

Hollywood dsnt give a shit abt horror movies that's why there tribute sucked balls.
If you want to see the prequel for Avatar you can pick up these movies:

Dances With Wolves
Ferngully
Pocahontas

See, I think that's a little too harsh. Sure, it wasn't the best tribute but it wasn't that bad either. They picked good movies, the honored the well-known classics and they set it to some of the most memorable horror scores.

Although, I am in the minority when I say that Freaks wasn't a horror movie. It's a drama. The only scary part was when they decided to rebel.

That's what some of my friends and I said to one of my other friends, who saw it in theaters 19 times.

Holy shit 19 times? That's a lot I barely stayed a wake the first time
yea, I know, we constantly are making fun of him for it.
19 times?!?!!? Jeez... it's not like it was Star Trek or anything. Big Grin
Yeah Freaks wasn't really horror... and I don't really think Eraserhead was either

As for Death Proof dialogue; I haven't seen the film yet but really, a crap-ton of old thrillers (which DP is based on) concern characters droning on about dull, inconsequential character-driven stuff for sevearal minutes before any action starts (pick up some 4-movie packs with lots of 70s stuff, you'll see Tongue)

yea, I know right!

Star Trek was great, not the way I Wanted it to go, but still good.
The Star Trek reboot had the potential to suck like the vacuum of deep space. I think they did a bang up job and having all this be in some parallel universe keeps them from destroying continuity.
I'm all up for a good parallel universe, as long as it switches back, but now the new movies are going to be in the alternate world. I want to see a Voyager movie, one based on the two books that came out involving what happened right where the show left off.
