ok I'm not talking about the
real ones like you'll see on Ghost Hunters...
I'm talking the ones that are "born" and "die" every October -
much as I enjoy going to them and seeing the special effects,
not to mention the "tributes" to certain movie moments and chars...
does anyone have any favorite memories

exdev: or dissapointments :ack2: on this subject???
ok....
thanks for your post but I think it missed the point of the topic.
We went to Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary a few years back... wasn't bad at all, they had this heavy set guy working in there that looked alot like leatherface ,well I moved to get away from him, did not want to be too close and he thought he scared me LOL I have a thing that I like, called "personal space"
The funniest part was when the tour stopped under this lady hanging upside down from the ceiling, and she told this guy who got stuck standing directly under her" I would not stand under me if I were you" I cracked up...
Then when we were on the outside getting ready to go into the Pen itself, this guy decided he was just going to whip it out and pee!! that was too much lol.. But overall we had a great time...

I try to keep an open mind - 20 years ago I wouldn't have believed phones would be small enough to be kept in a front coat pocket -- or does anyone else remember those "brick" style phones?
I went to a pretty good one when i was like 15,even though i knew it was fake...it scared the hell outta me.I hit a "clown" with umbrella, for a horror fan,i was a baby:p
We have a haunted house up here that is made by the folks at Universal Studios. It's $50 to get in and you have to go through levels before you reach the end. If you can make it through the end, you get your money back. The 'freaks' have the ability to grab you and throw you into another room, the levels change like a maze, they spray shit at you and before all this... you have to sign a waiver. Needless to say, I didn't get a refund. I made it through the fourth to last level. There are 10 levels.

here's my question - seeing as they could do just about anything to you - what would be going "too far" in everyone's opinion?
taking kids away from parents, corn syrup showers etc. etc.

Being covered in fake blood would be lame, because you would get it all over your car on the way home. I'd love it at the time, but later on I would be very pissed off.
Taking kids away from their parents? Not a good idea. I'm sure they would piss off a good deal of people and some of them would be willing to fight over that.
They make you read a waiver before you do that pretty much states what they might do. If you decline the waiver, you can't go it. If you sign the waiver, you are giving them permission to do so. They have those things worked out. It's REALLY not for the faint of heart. No corn syrup blood but several people did grab me. Shit was frightening.
I did the state penn terror behind the walls like u mary, unfortunetly I did not see s guy whip it out and take a piss. Lol I did see rats running around and that was fun. I just enjoyed looking at the history of the place. The theatrics was pretty lame.
In cali I did the del mar race track haunted hay ride. It was pretty cool how they designed the set to be an abandoned military post from an outbreak and all the zombies were running around. For some reason I got targeted... I guess I have that "she's-a-girly-screamer-look" and I did. Screamed like a bitch every time he jumped at me from behind and grabbed me on the hay ride. That M effer. The other part was a maze and they squirted water on us and u thought it was blood. Come on october!!!

Only once..but not in a haunted house, this was in a Ghost train..i had my mates daughter with me and the idiot jumped out and grabbed her...i punched him in the face..lol..luckily for him he had a very large rubber mask on.

Excellent! I would feel safe sending my children with you, Marklar.
I'm still somewhat nervous what happens when I sign those papers...
what am I letting these (?) DO to me since I signed thier waiver?
I once had that happen on a ghost train too, Mark. I think I was about 7 and ever since then I get a bit "punchy" when I'm startled

NO way I could cope with knowing that people would be grabbing me.
