Not everything in Charlton Heights, West Virginia is as it seems; some long departed folks from former times have come back to this town. Cabinets turn around, talk from the dark. Several residents assert there are no spirits, but with so many spirits in Charlton Heights you have a rather good chance of catching a sight of one if you stay an extra day in this town.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

The menacing ghost of a Viking may be seen often floating down on Armstrong Creek at night. Residents declare that this ghost can be the spirit of a local who passed on here in Charlton Heights a long time ago.

A bloodcurdling skeleton is sometimes seen on the highest spot of Armstrong Mountain in the early morning hours before sunrise gazing at the panorama.

A man that turned into a vampire has purportedly been witnessed on frequent instances searching through the closet in the bedroom of a Charlton Heights apartment at night. A person who lives here says that this
ghost is most likely the struggling ghost of a local person who used to live here in Charlton Heights.

A shining human figure was witnessed in Black Gum Hollow at the stroke of midnight howling at the bystander to go away. When seen the phantom moved toward the viewer who then escaped. A number of of those who live here declare this ghost is
the undead soul of a long dead Charlton Heights local.

The ghost of a pregnant lady came into view down by James Hudnall Spring before sunrise going wild. This precise ghost has been observed repeatedly in this spot.
