I honestly don't know where they would go with this.
bringing in a new generation
I really dont want them to do this movie. The reasoning behind why those movies were good was because they poked fun of the cliche of horror movies and the 90s. I bet they cant do that again. Its going to bomb at the box office.
I highly doubt it will bomb.
It might suck, but no way it will bomb. And it might be good, hell, I liked part 3.
Part 3 was pretty bad. Though if they do go the route of 'new rules' I'm sure it will be pretty clever. Not as clever as the first though.
I really hated this movie. The farther it progressed, the more annoyed I became. The constant cliches get old extremely quick. I can handle a few here and there sprinkled in, but not in every damn scene - which is exactly how it feels. Also, director Wes Craven doesn't want us to forget that he isn't taking this franchise seriously anymore. Scene after scene, he throws in quirky lines and dialogue that make fun of his Scream films, slashers and horror films. I am aware he has done this in the past, but not to this extreme. He goes to new heights in Scream 4.

The acting is also atrocious .... Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox & Hayden Panetierre were the only ones that seemed interested in the script. I really hope this is the last movie of the series, Craven ruined it with this bullshit.

Bojangles Wrote:I highly doubt it will bomb.

It did indeed, bomb. With an estimated budget at $40 million, it opened with: $18,692,090. Finished domestically with: $38,180,928.

Worldwide: $97,037,610
It was okay and I was entertained by it. I look at it this way, it wasn't as bad as 3, not as smart as 1 but on par with 2.
