Sounds like some people know nothing about Macs...

I haven't gotten a virus because I'm more intelligent than the average user. Enjoy owning an operating system that's not popular enough for people to care about creating virii for.

P.S. iPhone is sweet.
P.S.S. I didn't create these. However, I do find them comical. I don't give a fuck what system you own, but I know how hardcore mac fanboys are so I put this in No Holds Barred.

Unless you operate a small business, there's no point in owning a MAC.

I have both a Mac and a PC, and each of them has their pros and cons.
04-13-2010, 02:43 AM
I am a Mac user because of Final Cut Pro and because of the memory. I am not a Mac fanboy because I don't use the computer for gaming or anything but I will say that Mac has it's advantages. Windows has it's advantages but I found Mac easier to work with.

Most people who bash Macs are the same people who have never really used them. They're afraid of them. I don't own a small business, but I am an artist, and my Mac is my favorite tool. I'll admit that yes, I am a fan boy, but with good reason. Too many years of shit PCs. I'm actually not at all interested in online gaming either. I'm really not much of a gamer, period. Much like FreddysFingers, I'm a Final Cut Pro freak and love the entire Suite. Not to mention, the Adobe Creative Suites look sex-ay on my iMac.

Hmmm, I guess I'll grab my "Iron Bar of Reality" and have some fun in a light funny manner:
Macs for Graphics / Video / Audio? That's cute... But they are no where NEAR the top (SGI has that honor and have been used for Movies and media editing since before Macs COULD do that).
I'll take an SGI with IRIX over a Mac any day of the week.
Yea because Windows is the only thing that runs on PCs right? Go in my profile, look at my desktops. Those are ALL PCs running Linux, and BSD. There are not only no real viruses for those Operating Systems, Mac OS X uses FreeBSD as the core. Why? Because Unix has been around since the late 1960s and is STILL in use, has no real Virii problem, no Mal Ware, and no fucking Hot fixes that require a reboot.
Like Linux? Or BSD? No Viruses, no 10,000 dollar hardware, no glossy 20,000 dollar Monitor, I have a VERY old machine here, which was my Mom's computer. The Hard Drive in it went, so, She bought a new machine, I took that one, and it has an Intel Celeron @ 433 MHz, 192 MBs of RAM and an 8 MB Shitty ATI card. It's running Slackware Linux 13.0 and runs a GUI just fine, and I also have SSH and an FTP server running on it. Can't do that with a new version of Windows or Mac OS X because NEITHER could run on that hardware let alone a server on it. Slackware 13.0 however is the newest version of Slackware Linux...It runs fine on it.
Being a Phone Phreak has it's up sides
Like the fact that those can be exploited to shit and all your shit stolen. They look nice and all, but I don't own one. I'd rather have a Linphone.
Mac Fan boys are stupid. I've literally seen something like "What can your PC do that my Mac Can't?" And I can't help but think "RIGHT CLICK!"...
I hate WoW personally. The people playing it all seem to be stupid, and my Wife plays it and I've seen the moronic things the users AND staff say all the time. Their tech support people are fucking morons. They told my Wife that a problem I said was on their end, was on HER Machine instead. they made Her scan with some bullshit Mal Ware scanner, and of course it found nothing.
Turns out I was right and they had to actually DO something. They didn't though and We ended up fixing it ourselves.
Also, some of the miscreants playing that game will post a Trace Route from their machines and forget to remove their own IP Addy from the text.... YAY!...
Also, WoW not only works on Mac OS X, it works on Linux and FreeBSD too, with a certain tool that lets you run Windows Binaries on Unix. Cedega is one company but I can't remember the other one. And there is WINE.
How the fuck would a small business afford one? I can take a 486 that you pay 5 dollars for, install FreeBSD on it, and run a Mail Server, Web Server, FTP Server, DSN..... The list goes on and on.
For the most part, if you buy a Mac, you use Mac OS, if you buy a PC, you might get it with Windows preinstalled, but in no way does that mean you'll always get it. If I build a computer myself, why bother buying Windows? It's only one of like 100 OSs that run on PC hardware.
I can download any of the 10,000 versions of Linux for free, or I can download....5 different versions of BSD Unix for free and install that instead... Or I can download an Open Source version of BeOS, or Free-DOS, or... Well you get the idea. A PC does NOT mean Windows.
Also, Mac OS X, Like I said, is based on BSD Unix, so you get the exact same shit from Mac on PC but for Free.
Also, Mac machines can also run Windows now, though it would probably be stupid.... But they can also run Linux and BSD too.
I've used a Mac before. I managed to get read access on the Root account in like 25 seconds. Whoooo that "Macs are secure" Bullshit must REALLY be making Pinochio's Nose look small. (Root account = the System Admin account in the Unix world. In other words, OWNED!).
Aww come on dude... They're so Shiny !
SGI owns Multi Media. There is like no machine better than an SGI for doing Multi Media stuff. Before Apple / Pixar were common (Or whatever that name is from Dick headed Jobs) most movies were being rendered on SGI. The Matrix however, was done on a FreeBSD Cluster.
SGI is expensive as fuck because they are REAL workstations and Servers, but Macs being high priced is nothing new either.
I'm Hoping you didn't think Windows was your only option... I have BeOS, Linux of all sorts, BSD of all sorts, Free-DOS, and a bunch of Solaris installation CDs here, all of which work on a PC. Mac is actually harder to write Operating Systems for because Steve Jobs is a fucking prick and they ONLY allow Certified Mac OS installs. So when people first started writing versions of Linux for Mac, it was hard to do because Apple Hardware is totally closed off, expensive as fuck, and something as simple as adding RAM to your machine needs special tools only certified Fruit lovers can get... How much does it cost to send that thing in to get more RAM? Any PC I have here I pop open, add the RAM, and I'm done. A Mac has that fucked up screw keeping it bolted shut because, well, you know, Mac OS is basically a toy OS.
Macs can do online gaming just fine.... Not sure why that was brought up.
I do image editing, I make my own Music, and I do a lot of multi media stuff which I can't DO on a Mac because the tools I use aren't available....
Click on that Myspace link in my sig... All that music you hear? Was made on a PC with Linux, and every song was made in LMMS, which is Linux MultiMedia Studio. Totally Free and Open Source software I can download and install on 3,000 machines if I want, and it doesn't cost a thing.
Some of the songs were also made on FreeBSD, which I still used LMMS for because it works on that too, and Windows. The Windows versions were pretty shitty for a long time but they're starting to get better, but since I don't use Windows except for on ONE machine, it doesn't matter to me. My Laptop and all .... 5 Desktops I have currently hooked up, all have Linux or BSD on them...
We own about 11 Computers, and they can all run Linux or BSD. My FTP server which I use for Back Ups, was the first computer I ever bought. It's got 384 MBs of RAM, a Pentium 3 733 MHz Processor, and two Hard Drives (One is 43 GBs, yes, 43, when it came with Windows it said 42.9 due to the FAT File System Windows 9X used, when I installed Linux it gave me 43 GBs) and then I popped in a 160 GB HD, made it the Master drive, installed Slackware Linux on it, and then set up an FTP Server, and SSH, and now, no matter what machine I'm on here at home, I can use an FTP client, log into my Server sitting under my desk, and upload everything. I do this once a week and have a complete back up on one machine, and then I have an External USB HD I back up the really important stuff on.
I know a lot about just about any computer, and I will say with open Honesty that the only cool things from Apple are the Macbook, and... Actually that's pretty much it. They stole their first GUI from Xerox, and the Mac OS X GUI everyone thinks is so beautiful basically came from a Unix Window Manager called "Enlightenment" which I also use and have screen shots of in my profile.

well that was just adorable. If you want to talk "rip off rip off rip off" "he used this first" "she used this first" you'd go all the way back to Babbage (and I'm sure you'll tell me who he ripped off).
I'll have to go ahead and admit that when I say "PC", I usually am really just referring to Windows and that isn't fair. Several of my friends also have built their own Linux machines and won't use anything else. I haven't gotten to do much with them so I don't really have a stance there.
BTW, you CAN right click on Macs...now...The magic mouse is beautiful :-)
