As if remaking movies werent enough! Now, they are remaking our television shows to! I know they kind of already been doing it as it is...but now with the latest news i have heard, we have some others coming to our tvs soon! Like Hawaii 5-0 coming soon! But the track record for these types of remakes arent any better then the movies being remade. 90210 & Melrose Place remakes both bombed...so lets see how this little trend pans out!
Some remakes are far better than the originals (ie: Star Trek: TNG)... I don't know... I even liked the new Fantasy Island with Malcome McDowell and I even liked "Love Boat: The Next Generation". Even the new Dark Shadows and Twilight Zones were worth watching..... Depends if they half-ass it (ie: The New Munsters) or actually put thought and work into it.......

I think people are running out of original ideas. So they look to the classics and now good shows to bring back thinking they are going to be just as big of a hit as the original. Which in most cases has proven to be wrong. Thats my opinion of it.

Hollywood hasn't run out of ideas. They just don't want to spend money on original stuff and take the chances of it bombing. At least with a remake you got the upper hand with it already being well know and liked.
Yes he is indeed. I don't know if it was always quite like this, but Hollywood is made up of demographically obsessed chickenshits right now.
I don't think it was like that. Combined with the chickenshits that run the studio, they are basing their assumptions on the general audience. The majority of American's don't want to see anything that original but rather the same old shit. The audience themselves doesn't want to take a chance with something new because they don't want to spend the money and end up hating it. You can argue that the studios are acting that way because of the viewers and the economy.
What about movie to tv spinoffs?
