Today, the Guinness Book of World Records will award the Saw franchise as the "Most Successful Horror Movie Series."Twisted Pictures' Mark Burg, a producer of the films told Reuters: "The fact that we beat out (such horror franchises as) 'Friday the 13th,' 'Nightmare on Elm Street,' 'Halloween' and 'Texas Chain Saw Massacre' is a testament to our cast, crew and our partners at Lionsgate."The films have made over $73O million worldwide. The Guinness presentation will take place sometime today at the San Diego Comic-Con. The producers will be on hand to accept the award from Guinness editor-in-chief Craig Glenday.
Damn. I knew it was big, but I didn't know it was that big. Congrats, SAW! Smile
Saw is the king of Horror Franchises and there's no denying it now.
Well that's good... I guess. Though I wouldn't call it the king of horror movie franchises.
Gratz SAW! Party
I feel I should now go out and rent all movies to give proper respect to such greatness...
but what drink to go with it?
Maybe a New Orleans hurricaine Confusedexdev: or bloody mary? Wink
Should have gotten an award for being the goriest Horror movie franchises. I don't know any Horror movie gorier than the whole Saw series.
I think Dead Alive broke that record.
Dead Alive wasn't a franchise?
It wasn't a franchise but it was extremely gory. I'm sure if you put together all the scenes in Dead Alive it would be pretty close to Saw.
You're right, Dead Alive was gory but gore from a ton of zombie killing. Saw is different in that the torture happens to real human beings in very gruesome ways.
I still need to finally see Dead Alive.
Just remember, it's camp and nothing more.
Sweet.
SAW Fuck yea!
At this rate, I expect Paranormal Activity to possibly meet or even beat Saw's record. That is if PA lasts for seven movies or more.
Are they making a third movie?
Yeah, man. The trailer is out now. Comes out this October.
:reddisgust: And so commences the dead horse beatings.
