You know that makes my blood boil! Screw the nanny state telling me what could do me 'harm'. As if they can stop you getting your hands on it in any case...

It's no longer the quest to scare people any more, it's only a quest to see if they could make people censor and throw up. It's a damn shame what horror has become. Yes, I'm a old-school horror purist.

It was interesting, but a bit overrated. I'm looking forward to the sequel, especially after news of it being banned in the UK.

Well exactly. I'd like to see what got someone's knickers in a twist. But I have the feeling its just some jobsworth trying to justify his own paycheque.

I like how Tom Six isn't pissed because the film was banned in the UK, but because the article spoiled his film.
06-09-2011, 06:14 PM
He wanted it to be banned. That way he could say that it's so graphic and disgusting that British censors had a field day… all for the sake of marketing.

Not according to this article.

It's all a ploy! I think he realizes the American market might be more profitable than the European market and this buzz will only get more people to see it. Sure he feels cheated but he'll be fine once all the people start pouring their money into his hands.

I just read that - thanks Chris. I also looked at some of the comments underneath. Some idiot actually objected to Tom Six saying he wished for a good horror film to be horrific. Just because you don't need all out violence does not mean it should neither be included if you decide to film a story which warrants it or I shouldn't have the opportunity to watch it if I wish. It really doesn't matter if you believe Tom Six's films are a decent definition of horror or not or if you like an overt level of gore or violence. Its a work of fiction and therefore has no right to be censored for a consenting adult audience. I am my own censor. If I don't like it I can walk out/switch off.
Sorry - but that makes me mad as hell lol.

What if we didn't pay for the first one and don't plan on paying for the second one?

Than you're smart and not easily fooled by clever marketing. Not to say that those who saw it are idiots because I went and saw it because of the marketing.

I don't think I ever saw any marketing for it other than the poster. I had to track down the trailer myself.
