:toetap05: This movie bugged me, but that was the whole point.
I can't put my finger on it exactly....Before Freddy jumps me and screams Devil Woman, let me try to explain....

My very first impression of Agnus, I thought she was going to be this strong, empowered woman; ignoring her ex-husband's obsessive phone calls.
But that goes out the window in 2 seconds. That's why I had no emotional connection for this character and it ruined the movie for me. I'm going to totally sound like a heartless woman with this, but after watching her being verbally and physically abused by her ex, using drugs, hanging around trashy people, and then letting a strange guy stay the night....I checked out and could have cared less what happened to her after that.
Judd did a great job playing the co-dependent, needy woman. I just didn't care for it.
Goss is the abusive ex-husband that never leaves her alone and has just been released from jail.... so why does he just bounce when Evans starts staying? That seemed unbelievable to me. No fight? Nothing? Come onâ¦.heâs an ex-con.
The "bug blood disease" just didn't seem believable to me. I didn't get pulled in to it. I just wanted to check this guy into the VA and get him some serious help for PTSD and psychosis. I've seen enough cases of that in my job.
I did feel itchy though.
Friedkin did an excellent job giving the feel of panic, anxiety, and claustrophobia. The whole movie was pretty much shot in this little motel room. The tinfoil scene, my God...I would have lost my mind with them.
