Yes Freddy. I believe in God.
But I dont say I believe in the Devil. Those I called devil's minions are what some people called negative entities. Actually, everyone is vulnerable to possession and exorcism, whether from the devil (if he really exists) or from negative entities, especially spirits of the dead (which definitely exist). Vulnerability to spirit possession is a function of oneâs weakness of will and tearing of oneâs protective aura or auric shield.

Well actually, Wicca followers believe in God but they dont believe in Satan. Why?,,, It is because Satan is a Christian concept that does not exist within the religion of Wicca.

But see, the way I see it is that if there is a positive deity (or God) than there must be a negative one as well to balance things out. It's like a ying-yang. There needs to be a polar opposite to cancel one another out. Or maybe I am just to black and white (like a ying-yang). Not bashing your religion or anything, just thinking.

I believe in the spiritual balance & agree with u on that Freddro, but that doesn't mean there has to be a devil.
That is black & white Catholicism thinking. Stop thinking Hollywood exorcisms, they are entertaining, but fake. Rather, like Caftan King explains, having a spiritual attack is a greater possibility, no?

Yes! Spiritual attack have greater possibility and I believe those victims of spiritual or psychic attack have weak personalities and hold pent-up anxieties. Their psychological distress is channeled into physical symptoms like general weakness, nausea, dizziness, headaches and shortness in breath.
Well... I considered the incidents to be mere melodramatic rebellion, intended âto get peopleâs attention.

An exorcism is a Christian term and it originated in Christianity. I'm not even thinking about Hollywood exorcisms like spinning heads, green throw up and bodies walking on the ceiling but rather other actions. A spiritual attack should not be called an exorcist/exorcism but rather possession. In Christianity, having a demon or the devil attack and invade your body you need an exorcist. When being attacked by an angry spirit... that is possession or whatever term is used. I believe in spirits and I believe that some people might be haunted or even possessed by spirits but an exorcism is strictly within the Christian belief. That is why I brought up Satan and God because they are associated with one another and exorcisms.

"but an exorcism is strictly within the Christian belief."
Well thats not entirely true....there is a fine line there based on the term "exorcism" alone that may be associated with Christians. But there are other cultures, religions and whatever else, that have their own versions of an "exorcism" and what they refer to it as and have their own names for it.

But the idea of an exorcism is that some demon (which is in almost every religion) attacks a mortal being. That demon can be a minion to a much higher demon or the higher demon itself. What my point was, is that there is a difference between an exorcism and a spiritual attack. I think a spiritual attack is a possession and a demonic attack is an exorcism. I know in Islam an exorcism is called a 'Ruqya' or something.

Well i noticed through out this little debate that there is a lot of "i thinks" in about all of the responses. Which means there is a lot of personal opinions being shared about the topic. Which is great. People are entitled to their own opinions etc. And im not downing that at all, in case people get that idea.
And i see a lot thats just pure speculation and little or no education or research to do with it. Which that is also not my way of attacking anyone either, so dont get me wrong. Its just an observation. I myself have voiced personal opinion in part of my original reply.
So the debate on this topic is really going to go no where. And pretty soon i can see it get pretty heated here as religion is a sensitive subject and most are set in their ways on their own beliefs and how they feel about something.
i say if someone wants to know as much about it as they can go research it and post some known facts...what known facts are out there about it. There are plenty of cases out there to learn about. Some genuine, and quite a bit that are not. Some cases were just misdiagnosed as medical conditions. But i have a hard time believing that someone that just has a mental health issue also giving them the ability to speak in other languages, body contortions and knowledge they would have no way of knowing. And that is known fact in these cases. As i said before as well, few victims of possession were known to have no religious beliefs what so ever and still were victims.

I'm not attacking any religion. I think my main point is this: there is a difference between an exorcist and a spiritual possession. I don't believe in an exorcism but I believe in a spiritual possession.
12-04-2010, 07:39 AM
Yeah there is a difference between an Exorcist and a spiritual possession. An Exorcist is someone who performs exorcisms or other spiritual riddings. And i wasnt implying that you or anyone elsle was attacking any one particular religion at all. I was just saying that i didnt want anyone to think i was attacking them in my last reply.
"I don't believe in an exorcism but I believe in a spiritual possession."
See, i guess im not seeing the logic with that statement. So your saying that a spiritual possession can take place? If so, then your saying that it can not be rid of by means of an exoticism or any other type of deliverance, which is basically another form of exorcism? It all means to "rid of". And im not trying to come off as argumentative either, just trying to grasp your personal views on this.
