It's garbage but it was the good time. The My Bloody Valentine remake is a guilty pleasure for me to but the rest of them were just awful. The only real problem that I would have with the Hellraiser remake is that it will have a lot CGI to the point where it might be way overused.
Disagreed on the MBV remake being crap, or even a guilty pleasure for that matter. Honestly, that was an example of a modern remake done right if I've ever seen one; for one thing, it DID expand on the original (deepening the mystery element, which was basically an afterthought in the original) and it paid tribute without going full-blown "lets make the dumber fans think we actually like that old movie by referencing it!" wank-fest. I found there to be more suspense in the remake as well, such as in the hotel and grocery store scenes, and the climax.
I really enjoyed My Bloody Valentine, but I also never saw the original. I wasn't sure if it was just well done or if it was just me liking a mediocre remake. Glad to see it's the former.
The remake of MBV was good. Not great but it was entertaining for what it was. The original was not a real classic though so I don't think anyone was really kicking up a fuss when it was remade. Hellraiser is a whole other ball game. It has a stamp of originality on it that MBV could never hold a claim to. It has far more defining features than a mere slasher. I'm still displeased lol.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the MBV remake as well but I felt that despite it's brutal scenes of death and it's use of GOOD 3D, it was very melodramatic and flashy for the youthful audiences. I sort of grew up with the original and I felt like the original had more of a realistic small-town love story aspect to it.

Yes, Lollie. Though Hellraiser is classified as a slasher flick, I find it more of a supernatural horror than a slasher horror.
For me, the only Hellraiser movies are the first four. I know that the fourth film is up for debate, but I really liked that one. Hellraiser III was definitely more of a slasher movie than the others. But the first two are still the best.
I really like 4 - as if you couldn't tell lol. But I defend Deader aswell. It was a pretty good slant on the theme with the cult angle. I really don't think its a poor film at all.
Wasn't there a Hellraiser that took place in a computer or had a very technology themed storyline?

Yup. That'd be Hellworld, though there was a good bit of technology in part 4 as well.
