The picture above is the first official photo of Tom Hardy as Bane, one of the two villians to appear in the upcoming third Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises which is due next summer. Anne Hathaway has also been cast as Catwoman.
Nothing else is known about the plot, since it's being kept secret but there have been rumors it will somehow tie into Batman Begins, the first film of the popular trilogy. Christopher Nolan has confirmed no one will be replacing Heath Ledger infamous role as The Joker.
The official release date is July 20th, 2012.

And I'm really glad they've finally cast a woman in the series who can actually act.
Yeah, I'm pretty pumped about it. I'm not the biggest fan of Hathaway, but I have faith in Nolan and trust his instincts when it comes to casting.
On a side note, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has also been added to the cast. Rumors have been he might be Alberto Falcone (who also becomes The Holiday Killer) but it's been confirmed he is just going to be a rookie cop. I swear if he somehow becomes Robin, I will be pissed.

Those are some interesting but sweet videos, especially the second one. Where did you find those?
MSN. I got bored at work the other day and I saw that was mentioned and I just watched it myself. If there doing this whole escape from Arkham than that means there really following Bane's story line.
And if that is true, then this film will no doubt top The Dark Knight.
Leave it to Nolan for erasing Batman and Robin from my memory. I hate how people go you can't have Bane with out Poison Ivy. Actually if you read his storyline Bane is beast and now topping the Dark Knight that would awesome if it can do it. Nolan hasn't done a bad film in my eyes.
Nolan hasn't made a bad film yet but I will say his remake of Insomnia is average.

Insomnia was a very good movie in eyes. The element I enjoy out of Nolan's is the the moral compass as which way the main character's stand. Insomnia had that played well. Also look at how Robin Williams was taunting Al Pacino. Defiantly some early signs of Joker/Batman mind games.

The year long wait (13 months, but whatever) is probably going to kill me. I really just want to forget about the movie and then remember it sometime next year when the wait isn't so long. Highly anticipated for sure.

Rumor about Batman
and Bane's Arc
The devout Batman fans who have been following the comics for decades have been pushing for the adaptation of the story arc, 'Knightfall' since it was first announced that the character, Bane (played by Tom Hardy) will play a pivotal role in 'The Dark Knight Rises.'
In 'Knightfall,' a middle-aged Batman, (Bruce Wayne) who is losing his grip on Gotham gets his back broken in a battle with Bane. While recovering, Wayne appoints a man, Jean-Paul Valley to take on the mantle of Batman. Valley's methods as Batman differ greatly from Wayne's however, as he becomes brutally violent against even the most common of criminals. He also modifies the Bat-suit to become deadlier adding things such as claws and flamethrowers.
How much of the 'Knightfall' story arc will be making it into 'The Dark Knight Rises' is uncertain, but Comic Book Movie assures that a reliable source has told them that during the first encounter between Bane and Batman (Christian Bale) in the film, Bane will break Batman's back.
Not surprised. Why else would Nolan bring Bane in?

Christopher Nolan has yet to make a film that feels like it was fucked up royally. I've pretty much been pleased by every Nolan film I've watched. I'm just wondering if this will be as good as The Dark Knight or better. If anyone can accomplish that, it's the guy doing it.
This is very true. I've been hooked since Memento. I guess I've just grown cynical. They ALWAYS fuck up at some point, and I just really don't want it to be on the next Batman movie. Although, like I said earlier, until now I've been severely disappointed in his choices for leading ladies. They've really been the only "things" that have bothered me about the films. Whether you like Hathaway or not, you have to admit: at least she won't ever stare blankly into the camera. LOL
