The Further scenes had some of the best mood that I've ever seen in a modern horror flick. I wasn't to scared, or even impressed with The Strangers and have yet to see Martyrs. I have to say, it's a shame that Wan won't be known for this but rather Saw, which was good but not entirely on-edge scary.
