You should get over there right now and buy it. It's brutal, visceral, beautiful and you'll fall in love with the characters. I cannot stress how much I love this. The last book I felt like this about, was Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill (You know, Stephen Kings son).

Amazing book, and from a first time author too!
I forgot to include the synopsis

Hettie Reed has been left for dead in a shallow grave by a serial-killing monster that hides behind a charming smile. The encounter left her changed...and with a terrible hunger to satisfy.

She meets Henry Payton, an elderly retired homicide detective, that is intimately familiar with the manner of her death. He has lived too long between the long night of his own depression and his failure to save the women that haunt him.

They are soon in over their heads when they discover that the nature of Hettie's death has brought them to the attention of a larger, darker power. Redemption, vengeance, love, and sacrifice collide in this haunting tale of urban fantasy, horror and folklore.
Interesting, but I don't have a Kindle yet >.<
You can get kindle for PC, iphone, android, all sorts of things. I cannot recommend it enough.

am I the only one who thought this was going to be about late night places to eat? Confusedexdev:
CarolinePar, I see from your profile majig you are partly from Seattle. This story is set about 40ish miles up to the north of Seattle, out in the Monroe area if you know it.
