I hear that the movie based on the novel by Max Brooks World War Z is set to release in 2010, but the details on this film are pretty scarce. I wonder if it's not some strange Hollywood hoax that is meant to put in a good word for Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way or Paramount and Brad Pitt's Plan B. Imdb STILL list the movie as Announced and J. Michael Straczynski is currently writing the script. Damn, write fastest man!!!! I have a feeling that this movie never sees a release in theaters of DVD. I have found some "Concept Art" for the movie on another unnameable site, but it still feels like something that will never happen. Anyone else heard anything new about this movie?
I've just heard that it's happening. How is the book? I have it, but have yet to find the time to actually sit down and read it.
Wow, ya have it and haven't read it? Make time to read it, it's the best thing to happen to the zombie genre in years.
That's good stuff. I'm going to read it soon. What's the premise?
As recently as 12-4-08, the writer had a long interview with MTV pertaining to the script. BTW, Plan B picked up the rights. Generally, a company has to really want the rights to put out six figures for a book. Granted, they may sit on it for a while, especially with the current economy, but I think it will eventually be released. It may be a good thing if they do wait a while so they will have the budget for it. Hopefully, they will do the book justice.

Okay, it is a fiction book, but written VERY realistically, and it is interviews of the survivors of what the world eventually dubbed "World War Z", a time that zombies rose and took over the world, screwed the world up the pooper till mankind finally got it together and figured out how to take it back. It is from the point of view of survivors from all over the world, and the stories are in chronological order from the first outback to the last head shot to take back their lives. My favorite part is near the middle of the book, The Battle of Yonkers, told from the point of view of a Army Veteran that was there. The US Army takes an early stand and gets their ASSES COMPLETELY KICKED!!!!! Very very very great scene!!!!!!!!!! Very great book!
Damn. I'm going to check this out and possibly review it on HorrorTrailer.
You should. It's like the Zombie Apocalypse Bible!
Damn.
I think I need to get this book!
IT IS THE ULTIMATE ZOMBIE BOOK, AND I WOULD GO AS FAR TO SAY THE ULTIMATE ZOMBIE STORY. THIS COMING FROM THE BASTARD CHILD OF GEORGE ROMERO!!!!!:zombie:
