- It's said that Freddy will have more realistic burn scars than the original, and he's less comedic and more serious in this version.
- The film will supposedly detail a bit more backstory on Freddy.
- Freddy actor Jackie Earle Haley is reportedly signed on to do a total of three Elm St. films.
- Freddy in this film is described as "Nosferatu meets Ed Gaines."
- Connie Britton plays Nancy's mother.
- Katie Cassidy plays one of the lead females named "Kris".
- Kyle Gallner plays the role that was made popular by Johnny Depp in the original.
- Young actor Thomas Dekker will reportedly play "Jesse" a local jock on the swim team, who's trying to get back with his girlfriend.
- Actor Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children, Watchmen) will be playing "Freddy Krueger."
- Originally scripted by Wesley Strick (Arachnophobia, Cape Fear, Wolf), but rewritten by Eric Heisserer.
- It's said the film will take a more psychological approach.
- Once again this is a "re-imagining" of the original film, with hopes of giving the story a complete "overhaul."
- Platinum Dunes (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, Friday the 13th remake) is behind this.
- The franchise was also turned into a television series that ran for two seasons from 1988 to 1990, where Freddy played host to a collection of strange tales.
- No relation to the Nightmare on Elm St. prequel that's supposedly "in talks" right now, although, I wouldn't be surprised if the two projects blended together.
- A remake of the original 1984 Wes Craven film starring Robert Englund as the iconic Freddy Krueger.
Shew. This is going to be a tough one to pull off correctly.
Yea, you got that right.
I mean Billy Bob? wtf?
Now, how many Jasons has there been? Quite a few huh? Well, only ONE Freddy. Robert England not being Fred will be weird, but hell, after seeing the Friday the 13th remake, I'm open for it.:zombie:
It's not that Loki...
I mean Billy Bob Thornton? wtf...
Um, Sling Blade, Bad Santa, Monsters Ball,Armageddon,Tombstone, and Chopper Chicks in Zombietown shows you that Billy Bob is a very diverse actor. And hell, he survived being married to Angelina Jolie. I think he could pull it off quite well.:zombie:
No, No , No...
I love Billy Bob!.
What I'm saying is, he is no Freddy!
well, besides for England, who is? If not him, they gotta start somewhere:zombie:
Somebody more creepier then Billy Bob.
He might do well... lets hope!
Uh, I think Billy Bob is creepy as HELL. But hey, that's justmeSmile:zombie:
He was pretty creepy in Sling Blade...
but is he Freddy?...
No, but neither IS ANYONE ELSE at this point. Maybe Brad Pitt? Hehehehehehehehehehehehehe...........he can be pretty creepy too!

Seriously though. Can you think of anyone who would make a good freddy besides for England?:zombie:
eww...
I'm done with that 'Whole' Brad Pitt shit!

But oh well.

I'll keep everyone up to date on this Remake! Smile
It is pretty hard to picture anyone else as Freddy besides Englund.

Dude, he IS Freddy!:zombie:
