What were your thoughts on this movie? I could barely sit through the whole movie. There were people falling asleep all around my friend and I when we were in the theaters.
What really?!
Its that bad?
Yes, it was that bad. My friend started yawning and we went to see it before 1pm. I can't remember what time it was now, but it was early. The acting in the movie was absolutely terrible. I don't usually pay attention to bad acting, but this was insane.

Nice signature. The Mist. Smile
That movie made absolutely no since to me...
It just sucked so damn bad.
Yeah. M Night is only making movies off of his name, now. I mean, the movie looked like it may be cool via the trailers, but the actual film itself was horrible.

I agree.
The horrible acting did give me a great laugh though.
I think everyone can agree that the acting was terrible.
Okay, I'll be the voice of dissension. I kinda liked it. But, you had to take it in the spirit that it was offered. M. Night came out before it was released and said "There is no twist at the end." He also said that it was supposed to be a B-Movie. Mark Wallburg does not play the straight man very well. I kept waiting on him to break out into some Boston slang. And, we spent most of the movie trying to figure out where we had seen Alma before. (Still haven't figured that one out. Maybe it's because her sister is Bones.)
That all being said, I kinda like cheesy movies and this one qualifies.
Twist or not Plants farting and making people want to kill themselves is just plain stupid and made for a terribly boring flick. I didn't find it remotely interesting and the CGI was terrible.

Agreed.

lol I agree
Wow, guys, now tell me what you REALLY think.
I never said this is the end all be all best movie of all time. In fact, I believe "cheesy" was in my post a couple of times. Most Hollywood types love any passionate reaction. You have given him that.
I was happy that there were no boobs, no twit taking a shower by herself with a killer on the loose in the neighborhood, and no long drawn out torture/gorno scene. There was a touch of romance and being a chick I appreciate that. The methods of suicide were interesting. And, the story itself was good, but was not presented in the best possible way.
Now, all that being said. M. Night is not the messiah of movies. Even Romero is not immune to fans disapproving of their latest effort. I know a very big fan of his that did not like Diary of the Dead at all. Sacrilege:eek:
Did any of you like any of his other movies? This one I watched out of curiosity and probably will not watch again. I don't even consider this movie to be a horror movie at all. Thriller, Sci Fi, Drama, Natural Disaster, but not really horror. If all it takes is people committing suicide, then The Shawshank Redemption, Contact, and Platoon would be horror. If a natural disaster makes a horror movie, the The Perfect Storm, Armageddon, and Twister would be. I've got it, will put Brooks Hatlen (the birdman from Shawshank) on the Andrea Gail (boat from Perfect Storm). Tada...Horror movie.Wink
See it doesn't even work for me on a cheesy level. I'm not sure why either. All I can figure is that when you try to mix serious images with again what I think is one of the worst ideas for a thriller ever it just doesn't work. If you dig it on some level then that is cool. Trust me I like some really bad movies that I can't explain why I watch them as much as I do. Hell our March Podcast is built around a director and films that most fans either don't have a clue about or think is a hack.
I agree. It doesn't work for me on a cheesey level, either. I do watch a ton of what most would consider bad movies, but I love them for some reason.
The Happening still sucks...
Friday The 13th Wrote:The Happening still sucks...

Unfortunately, yes.
it was an okay movie, for as shitty a story it was, "oh no the plants are gonna eat us" hahaha
