Cast
Emily Perkins - As Brigitte
& Katharine Isabelle - As Ginger

In one of the best Werewolf Horror Films to date In my opinion!

Plot
Two edgy teenagers intrigued with death,
get more then what they bargained for when they
eventually meet death in the face.
But is it them who dies, or is it someone else?
The horror starts when Ginger finds out she has gotten her first period.
While waking in the woods under a full Moon,
A Werewolf appears, to taste the newly intriguing blood.
To Brigitte's surprise her sister begins to grow a tail
and hairs all over her young body.
Scared for her Sister Brigitte goes wild for a cure,
in which she meets a Stoner named Sam.
And alas the gruesome tale has begun!

Review
Ginger Snaps
Is about two young teenagers
obsessed with anything and everything about death.
Ginger and her sister Brigitte are social outcasts,
plotting on ways to kill themselves when we first meet them.
In which actually turns out to just be a school project.
Later throughout the day Ginger and her sister
Brigitte goes off to kidnap a bully's dog.
When Ginger begins to have her
very first period under the full Moon,
A werewolf appears and bites Ginger.
Brigitte comes to Gingers aid and saves her from the beast.
Although Brigitte and Ginger have no idea what
the hell that beast was, They still know something is awfully wrong.
Eventually over time we begin to see Ginger transform.
And we also watch the stress Brigitte has to go through,
With knowing her sister is turning out to look alot like the beast
that first bit Ginger on that horrible night.
Eventually animals start disappearing and people!.
After her sister starts to grow hairs, nails, and a tail.
Brigitte goes nuts for a cure, anything she can do to save the sister
she once made a pact with till death do they part.
She eventually comes across a stoner who might be able to help her.
But first he needs a plant that may be able
to cure her sister's Lycanthropy. (Monkshood).
The movie goes on with even more deaths, and gruesome tales.
Until eventually Brigitte comes face to face with
her fully transformed sister.
Brigitte and her now transformed Werewolf sister get into a fight.
Brigitte loves Ginger so she doesn't really want to harm her,
so she try's to save Ginger, but instead she accidentally kills her.
That's where the story ends, or does it?

You just spoiled it for him, lol.
Oh lawdy....
I only have one real problem with this review. You never really get into your opinion of what happens in the film. You give a great rundown of what happens in the film but you never really tell us what you think of those happenings, and thats what I really want to know....

I'll agree with JerseyDevil. For your first review you definitely have done well. However, for future reference you just need to go more into detail. Right now, you're walking through the movies. That's fine, but like Jersey said, you need to give your opinion on things. For instance.

Quote:A werewolf appears and bites Ginger.

I would have said something like:

After a botched retaliation against their mutual enemy, they decide to turn back. Suddenly, Ginger realizes there's a warm trickle running down her leg. After learning that it's her own blood, she now accepts that she has been given the "curse". She has just experienced her first period. Before she gets to bitch about it too much, she is suddenly pulled off into the woods. Brigitte is left in aww as she can hear her sister screaming out from the darkness. She snaps to and realizes that she has to help her sister from whatever just ripped her into the woods.

I think this is scene could tell us something. At this point we have seen the sisters be there for eachother emoitonally. I mean, these girls really do have a close bond with eachother. Now, we see that they would also be there for eachother physically; even if it was to help the other fight off an unknown assailant. If you're going to attack one of them, you should be ready to fight the other.

You see where I'm getting at? Either way, keep it up! You'll get the hang of it in no time.
I dunno.
I do suck. hahaha
Oh nice siggy btw! Confusedexdev:
I used to write some reviews of sports movies on a former site I did some work on. I find the best way to write a review is while you are watching a movie write down some notes about the movie, like key points. It makes it easier to remember things that stood out to you in the movie.

And the review didnt suck. I just want to know your opinion more so that I can go into the movie looking for certain things that may not have stood out to me while I was watching.
I've done the exact same thing before, Jersey. Sit down with a laptop and turn the movie on.
Okay I'll say what I think now.

The movie was damn good.
Most films of today are to computerized, but this film was different.
When you did get to see the werewolf/transformation it actually looked real.
It wasn't none of that nintendo 64 type shit.
And the plot I though kinda went well with what happens throughout the film.
I thought the acting was pretty good for their first kinda big film.
I mean these girls were Canadian actors. So I think they did quite well.
Katherine Isabelle (Ginger) Did a damn good job in the film.
Well so did Emily Perkins (Brigitte).
The acting wasn't to bad.
And the effects was a hell of alot better then if they would have been computerized.
Then again I love creativity...
Damn good movie! I personally thought it was the best Werewolf film out there!
And if you haven't seen it, go do so!.
Also while your at it, rent Ginger Snaps 2!
Both of theses films are damn good!
Although I will admit, Ginger Snaps 3 was not good at all.
But then again someone may actually like the 3rd.

In the End this film deserves an 8/10 Rating!
I am kind of pissed off about this movie now. Ive seen it On Demand a few times and saw the name and laughed at it, because I thought the name made it sound like some teen crap movie where the girls are little bitches and in high school and torment other girls kind of like that debacle Jawbreaker. Now that I know its a top notch werewolf movie I wish I would have watched it before it left the On Demand.

I'm blaming this all on Bojangles for not getting me to join from Twitter sooner. haha
Hahah. You sound alot like me.
But yea I thought that too.
I also thought it would be some retarded B/ low budget film.
But nah, it's a damn GOOD film!
It has been awhile now since I have seen Ginger Snaps. I dont remember exactly when it was released, but I had seen it then. But the title only brings back solid memories of a kick ass, chicks in the lead, well made horror movie. I have recommended it to countless people, well not countless, because I dont know that many that watch these things, but people none the less. If you havent seen Ginger Snaps, you need to.

By the way, another movie that I remember seeing around the same time, Cherry Falls. Very cool movie.
Glad you liked it too man! Smile

Laughing-satan I'm just glad you made it here at all.

What channel was it on? I don't remember seeing it On Demand Sad
I want to say Starz/Encore On Demand. If you have Comcast, it could have been in the Free Movies section as well. I just remember seeing the name a couple of times and chuckling.
Ahhh. If you ccheck out my sig it is based on Ginger Snaps. Wink
