Elvis Presley (Bruce Campbell) is an elderly resident in an East Texas rest home; seems he switched identities with an impersonator years before his "death" and then missed his chance to switch back. The King teams up with Jack (Ossie Davis), a fellow nursing home resident who thinks he's John F. Kennedy, and the two old codgers prepare to battle an evil Egyptian entity that's chosen their long-term care facility as its happy hunting grounds. Official Trailer.

Man that's a classic right there!
Great action!

Love, love, LOOOOVE this movie. And not just because it's adapted from a great story by my favorite author of all time, Joe R. Lansdale.
I always have a really hard time describing this one to folks who have never seen it. 'Cause, yeah, I'll be the first to admit that it sounds utterly ridiculous. But there's so much more to BUBBA HO-TEP, IMO . . . .
I think this Southern horror/comedy, as silly as the story is when you tear it down to its bare basics, is also a wonderfully *poignant* film elevated by some fantastic performances. In the end, I actually find it to be a pretty *sad* movie, one that says a lot about how we dump our elderly into rest homes and then forget all about them and their loves/likes/worries/fears.
Fantastic. Highly, highly recommended to folks with an open mind looking for a good, original story.

You gotta LOVE Bruce Campbell!
