I got a good idea. Take the dvd back and get your money for it, come to me, give me the money and I will kick you in the nuts and save you two hours of your life. Because thats what this movie was, a kick in the nuts.
The movie did absolutely nothing for me. The acting was once again bad, the cheesy teen drinking and smoking pot was worse then the normal horror movie and it all just came off annoying and didnt even have that silly stupidity like it normally does.
The kills were not that good. And the number one thing that drove me nuts....When the hell did Jason Vorhees become a expert archer?

I've already seen it in theaters. I enjoyed it. I didn't see the death by arrow scene coming. It has happened before in a Friday The 13th movie, though. Also, it's a remake. They could put any spin on the character of Jason they wanted.

Isn't part of the joy of a horror film is not knowing what to expect?
But using a bow and arrow
- well...
I guess it's
...a new weapon for him to use..

I just know I'm gonna get flamed for saying this, but I honestly thing the new Friday the 13th might be the best film in the series.
I know we all love the originals, don't get me wrong, but do me a favor...
Go back and watch Friday the 13th part 5
Then tell me with a straight face that it was better then the new one.
I dare you.

I feel it was a worthy installment with a good mystery angle and more of a point than simply Jason slashing

Oh yes and also, F13 part 1 is terrifying

...But then I haven't seen the remake yet, so I cannot truly say at this point, for sure

urm, I will admit I do like the Remake better then the original

But those originals are Classics!

The remake is pure bad ass. I would highly suggest that you check it out, Briggs.

Have you watched Part 5 recently? It was god-awful. I could go on all night, about why, but as an example, they gave a bunch of unsupervised mentally troubled teens an axe to go chop firewood with.
The whole idea of these troubled kids being left enturely without any sort of supervision was ridiculous. The story was laughably bad.
...and don't get me started on Jason X
But yes, the original was horrifying. I don't disagree, I just think the newest film was superior.
just my .02

It was the one I watched most recently in fact, and I know the subplot's premise was iffy as heck, but there have been worse plot holes in horror. Plus the guy who ran the place seemed pretty damn sure of himself and how "under-control" the situation was, which could count for something
And honestly, the main story with Tommy strung out and possibly taking the role of his "nemesis" was more clever than "Jason comes back, yet again and not much else"; not gonna diss those plots since they can be great on their own, but a change of pace (provided it's not something silly like the leprechaun appearing in space as a plot device alone) usually trumps that IMO

I like the old, but when it comes from the original F13 or the Remake...
I will go with the Remake lol.

While all you say here is true (though I think you're being a little kind to the ole part 5) It doesn't address the comparison. The remake of Friday the 13th was far superior in basically every way to part 5. (and many others, but 5 is on the chopping block at the moment...
...heh, chopping block)
