My friends used to come up to me all the time because they wanted No-Doz cause they knew I always had them on me! i've had Jolt Cola in those big cans but never seen it in the regular size cans ![]() what's a case of red bull to you? bc i get those Costco ones where there is 24 cans in the case. i can drink like 5-6 Red Bulls a day, or more!! you need to try Redline, it's amazing. Last thing you purchased - gore - 05-20-2010 I've had Red Line, it's pretty good. And of course I'm Addicted to Caffeine, I don't know hardly anyone who isn't. I think I've met two people who weren't. Everyone else I know is for sure. Can't get up without a Cup of Coffee, or can't go without Chocolate, or however they ingest it. Being a Computer Geek, I have a Natural tolerance. Heh, to some of my friends, I'm not even drinking that much... I know people who will literally have either Coffee or Energy Drinks from the time they wake up, to the time they are asleep, non stop. Last thing you purchased - CarolinePar - 05-21-2010 the three new Mountain Dews... I'm considering starting a caffeine "diet" - maybe I won't feel so sleepy by early evening then. Last thing you purchased - gore - 05-21-2010 Actually, Caffeine in certain doses, is very good for you. It's not just for staying up late and all that; It also helps a lot of pain medications work. That's why most "Head Ache" versions of Tylenol and all that usually have about 50 MGs of Caffeine in them. Which is more than what you'd get in Chocolate, but not more than a Mountain Dew. It's more than a can of Coke though. When I get Migraines, I usually up my Caffeine. The Doctor who checked them told me that would help, because Caffeine is a Diuretic, and helps certain meds work better, and helps with Head Aches. Last thing you purchased - Daylight Yet Unseen - 05-22-2010 it's true!! i had to do a speech on the benefits of caffeine and it's VERY good for you!!! it reduces your risk of diabetes by 54%, and even offsets other damages. Did you know alcoholics who regularly consumed caffeine had far less damage than those who did not? and when you work out, you burn calories 33% faster if you have caffeine beforehand. oh and i bought a case of Red Bull, from Costco. Last thing you purchased - Friday The 13th - 05-23-2010 Just curious but... how can Caffeine be good for you? Last thing you purchased - gore - 05-23-2010 Other than some of what was pointed out already? Diuretics have a lot of uses. In medicine, diuretics are used to treat heart failure, liver cirrhosis, hypertension and certain kidney diseases. Some diuretics, such as acetazolamide, help to make the urine more alkaline and are helpful in increasing excretion of substances such as aspirin in cases of overdose or poisoning. Diuretics are often abused by sufferers of eating disorders, especially bulimics, in attempts at weight loss. That's why most OTC weight loss drugs have Caffeine in them too. It also boost your mood and, the obvious of helping you stay awake.... Caffeine and other methylxanthine derivatives are also used on newborns to treat apnea and correct irregular heartbeats. Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system first at the higher levels, resulting in increased alertness and wakefulness, faster and clearer flow of thought, increased focus, and better general body coordination, and later at the spinal cord level at higher doses. Caffeine citrate has proven to be of short- and long-term benefit in treating the breathing disorders of apnea of prematurity and bronchopulmonary dysplasia in premature infants. The only short-term risk associated with caffeine citrate treatment is a temporary reduction in weight gain during the therapy, and longer term studies (18 to 21 months) have shown lasting benefits of treatment of premature infants with caffeine. Another study showed that human subjects â after receiving 100 milligrams of caffeine â had increased activity in brain regions located in the frontal lobe, where a part of the working memory network is located, and the anterior cingulate cortex, a part of the brain that controls attention. The caffeinated subjects also performed better on the memory tasks. Most of that is copy and paste but it's good info. Also remember that to OD on Caffeine, you need almost 200 MGs per Kilogram of your weight... In most people, that equals out to about 80 cups of Coffee, which, would be almost impossible to do because you have to DRINK the Coffee, and by the time you slammed down the first 15 cups you'd be pissing so much it would start giving time for the shit to half life and save your life anyway. Last thing you purchased - gore - 05-23-2010 I'll add this too: In the other thread where they said they were going to start a Caffeine Diet was saying how Caffeine was somehow bad or something. Last thing you purchased - Daylight Yet Unseen - 05-23-2010 i actually do have trouble sleeping. i dirnk tequila or whiskey to help me sleep but i know it's really bad so i am trying to not do that. Overdose yet, but you don't have to overdose on something for it to kill you or cause serious health effects. It can happen over time. Alot of people DON'T overdose on alcohol, but over time it damages their liver and whatnot. So just because it takes such a large amount to OD, doesn't make it anymore safe to drink 5 cups of coffee a day. Last thing you purchased - Daylight Yet Unseen - 05-25-2010 yea i only drink about 500mg of caffeine a day so i'm good. and drinking 6 cups of coffee a day is actually really good for you. it keeps you alert, focused, boosts your matabolism, curbs your appetite, and helps reduce headaches, like gore said. caffeine wins! Last thing you purchased - FreddysFingers - 05-25-2010 Hey Gore, I actually think it's one glass of wine a day is good for you. That's why my grandmother's doctor told her. She loves her white wine. Alot of people DON'T overdose on alcohol, but over time it damages their liver and whatnot. Alcohol actually damages every major organ in the human body. It's actually more dangerous than Heroin in every way you could take that. Alcohol beyond the one or two glasses, will actually do more damage to you than Heroin. Which doesn't affect your organs. And Heroin helps control body temp, breathing, and more. It has more benefits yet people think it's the worst thing you can do. I haven't ever done that, but I also read a lot of White Papers, medical texts and so on. And because I know someone is going to google this, the reason it says Heroin does horrible things to you, is very much because it's always cut with something else. Back when the company who makes Bayer Aspirin released Heroin as an Over the Counter pain killer, it was pure, and safe, other than the huge risk of addiction. Their next product, Aspirin, on the other hand, Damages your liver, and can give children a Disease. I'm also allergic to it. But since it won't get you hooked, or feel good, it's legal. Your liver doesn't shut down after one night of heavy drinking. Just as heroin, unless you overdose, kills you overtime. And from what I've seen the main reason heroin kills people is either 1.) Dirty needles or 2.) It's too pure. And as stated in other areas, with each good thing, comes 5 bad things. And I've never actually heard of heroin being given over the counter, interesting. Will have to check that out. If I'm not mistaken heroin comes from the opium poppy plant which I think is in South America. Just like marijuana, I never hear of people driving and killing people while high, and as far as I know there are no serious side effects of marijuana other than it makes most people a moron and kills brain cells. I'm not against legalizing marijuana as I think it would actually help our economy and eliminate a ton of criminals if it could be bought at Walmart versus on the streets. But yeah, Bojangles is a fat cow :peace: Last thing you purchased - Bojangles - 05-26-2010 Trioxin149 Wrote:Your right about the alcohol, but like I said, it isn't an overnight thing unless you OD, it takes time. Will have to check that out. If I'm not mistaken heroin comes from the opium poppy plant which I think is in South America. The reason "Too pure" Heroin kills is because unlike Tylenol there aren't any directions on how to take it. There used to be, and no one ODd unless they REALLY tried. Heroin comes from Morphine, which comes from the Papaver Somniferum / Opium Poppy, and South America doesn't really have much. Most of it is grown in India, and some of those hot middle east looking countries. The Poppy is probably the oldest medicine still in use for anything. You can see it on wall paintings going back thousands of years. It's been cultivated since... I think I saw someone once say it's the oldest thing cultivated. Period. In the more modern world (After Rome got big) the Romans used it for everything from making sex last longer, to giving it to the army to conquer places. Morphine was first discovered in Opium by a German in the 1800s, and once it was brought down to that level they found Opium sap contains Morphine, Codeine, and Thebaine along with a few other things. Thebaine can be turned into Pain Killers, and Codeine should be obviouse which is used to make Hydrocodone and OxyCodone (Vicodin, Lortab, others, and then Percocet, Oxy Contin) and so on. You can also make other pain killers from it, but Morphine is still the Golden Standard. Heroin is made when Morphine was boiled on a stove, and an acid was added (Like Aspirin) and the person who did this named it Heroin. The main problem America and other countries saw with Heroin wasn't death, wasn't crime, it was addiction.... Heroin and Morphine technically are the same style drug. The main difference is people say Heroin is about 3 X stronger. And it hits faster, which is why in England, Heroin is available by Prescription. This is because if you are in enough pain, Morphine may not work, Heroin will. Dilaudid is one of the strongest pain killers available period here in the states. It's over 10X stronger than Morphine, and 7 X stronger than Heroin. It's used for chronic pain more because it's also not as addictive as Heroin or Morphine, yet works great. I speak from experience. I have to slipped discs in my spine which makes walking excruciating and when you called me fat in that other thread, well, I was bigger and I'm no where near 400 pounds like you thought. But having to pieces of bone, grinding on your nerve endings, is going to kill you ability to work out. Opiates in general, don't affect the human body. If they weren't addictive, they'd be the most popular thing on the planet. Because they won't harm you, or your body, no matter how long you use them. I have a quote from a Surgeon General in the US admitting they can't find anything harmful about it. Bet that quote won't ever make it to TV. As for Pot, I've read a lot about this too, and my Uncle has a prescription for it for his MS. It doesn't make you stupid or kill brain cells.... At all. Alcohol has that award. Pot actually won't make you stupid. The real health problem from it, is smoke. Inhaling ANY smoke will harm your lungs. This is not an issue, even my Uncle has a Vaporizer now. He's been doing this for a while now, ever since it became legal medically, and there are no issues he's having. Other than he has a better sense of humor. Also, from a purely scientific area of viewing; Drugs are the reason we are who we are. No one SxE has ever made good music, no one sober has ever dreamed of flying in air plains, and even Coca Cola was invented by a Morphine addict. I have video from the History channel if this seems shocking and you want proof. (Hooked: Illegal Drugs and how they got that way). |
