Is Oldboy horror? - FreddysFingers - 06-13-2011

I think that Shaun of the Dead is a comedy themed horror movie. I used this stance when people were arguing with me that Zombieland should be considered a horror movie too. There is a slight difference between comedy themed horror flicks and horror themed comedy flicks. However, back on the topic, if a movie is in both genres it should be considered thriller but if it's more of a drama or horror it should be seen as one or the other. The Exorcist has slightly more horror than drama so therefore I see it as a horror.

LOL - wow you're strict. I think my rules are a little more like guidelines than yours. Tell us like it is Freddy! Nice to see a lack of fence sitting anyway.

I guess I developed that mentality because of how many horror flicks I watched and observed from when I was a kid. It always irked me that people consider American Psycho a horror movie and then I realized that, like other genres, people shouldn't be so quick to classify movies as horror.
