Favorite Leatherface clan? - Dr. Briggs - 07-11-2009 It's pretty well known that despite not being the pioneer, The Taxas Chainsaw Massacre series was what widely popularized the "feral family" in horror film. As such, it has had some of the oddest and coolest variants on the theme out there! From 6 films there have been several variants on Leather's family, each have their strong points: TCM1: Te classic lineup: A golemlike Leatherface, a down-to-earth Cook, a hyperactive hitchhiker, an almost dead Granpa and a fully dead Granma >.> TCM2: Leather is more childlike and awkward, sort of "finding himself" here, also, he seems even stupider... Meanwhile the cook (Named "Drayton Sawyer" here) has gone even more insane, the hitchhiker is now a puppet and has been replaced by the infamous metalheaded Chop-Top, Granpa actually seems more lively despite being a decade older, and granma has apparently come back to life (according to Chop-Top, until the end...) "Leatherface": Leatherface's hormones have now apparently kicked in full-force, leading to him apparently raping at least 1 chick, and getting very, very violent... We've got a lotta changes to the family dynamic here, including a mom with a speaker in her throat, three cousins: a prosthetic-decked one, a crossdressing good-ol-boy, and a total idiot pervert type, a now (well, seemingly) dead Granpa, and finally a shiv-happy little girl (Who just may be Sally's daughter) The Next Generation: Here it gets weird as Leatherface seems to have settled down a bit and really gotten into the whole crossdressing scene! Due to his mellowing, much of the housework is now done by VILMER! a very, very, very weird man with a mechanical leg who likes takeout pizza, hurting people (Including his typical redneck wife), hurting himself, and killing people... he apparently works for the Illuminati, or some other odd group. Rounding out the place are W.E. Sawyer who is totally stupid and quotes famous philosophers, and the new Granpa, who seems much more easily freaked out than the last ones. TCM'03: These guys are probably the most "normal" family to date (Which is not saying much): We have the most sadistic psycho-ass Leatherface since part III, in addition to a legless father figure, a pompous mother, a creepy emaciated tea-lady, and a kid, who seems the most sane out of any Leatherface-family-dynamic. Still the big asset here is R. Lee Ermey as a psycho sheriff who is a gracious family friend. "Beginning": I have not seen this yet, though I can only guess it's about the same as the remake, since today's audiences are not as forgiving to gratuitous continuity errors! So, which one(s) do you prefer??
Favorite Leatherface clan? - Trioxin149 - 07-11-2009 I liked the family in the The Next Generation probably the best, but that doesn't mean I liked that film the best. LEATHERFACE (part 3) was probably my second favorite family out of all the films... Favorite Leatherface clan? - Dr. Briggs - 07-11-2009 I laughed all through Next Generation . VILLLLLMEEEEERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rocked, as did the rest of them!Part III had a good lineup as well, and the coolest ones all survived . Honestly, I think it would be cool to continue the series from that point, though it's hella doubtful

Favorite Leatherface clan? - FreddysFingers - 10-09-2010 NicoleMayCanaday Wrote:Yes That's a good one only for it's camp factor. The family is just nuts in a demented comedy sort of way. Favorite Leatherface clan? - Friday The 13th - 10-11-2010 I prefer the Remake! The old TCM's were okay, some were better then others... But I mean the new badass Leather owns the old cross dressing Leather Face. Favorite Leatherface clan? - FreddysFingers - 10-11-2010 The new one is more guy in a skin mask whereas the original is more of an homage to Gein. The remake one is way to studio influenced. |
