Scariest movie you've ever saw and why - Wolf-J-Flywheel - 08-22-2009

I would have to say mine would be IT because when I was younger this movie always scared me and gave me nightmares and now days I hate clowns

Scariest movie you've ever saw and why - Friday The 13th - 08-22-2009

I hate clowns to, only because they don't make me laugh....
But as for the Scariest film... It's a toughy.

Well if I could name 2 films that have EVER caused me nightmares! It would be -
Nightmare On Elmstreet, & Friday The 13th! Definitely!

I do not know... But I think it's pretty much between 3

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre '74 - Just about the most perfectly crafted horror film I've seen. Just about every scene is scary or at least disturbing/unsettling, even on repeat viewings. Once it kicks into high gear there's not a dull moment.

The Evil Dead - Even scarier than Texas Chainsaw, but has some directorial flaws that occasionally break up the tension. Starts early, gets bleak, and eventually shifts into totally overwhelming: A bad dream on crack.

Black Christmas '74 (Coincidence?? o.O) - This one started a trend of cheezy slashers, and had some "bleeeh" cheezy moments... However ONE thing kept me from wanting to go to sleep that night, even though I watched it in the morning. THE VILLAIN. Billy = Pure boogeyman atmosphere x10, totally insane, but intelligent enough to stalk; sadistic, but creepily childlike...

I hear ya but those movies didn't really ever scare me because well for one Freddy is stupid and I kind of looked up to Jason so he didn't really scare me

Scariest movie you've ever saw and why - Friday The 13th - 08-22-2009

Freddy isn't really stupid... It's just how they made him.
I mean I can't stand when he jokes around... wtf yo!

Scariest movie you've ever saw and why - Dr. Briggs - 08-22-2009

I think the joking added to his sadism x.X . Still, I prefer straight-up scary Fred too; IMO he was best in part 2, manipulative and hateful.

Child's Play, saw it when I was like 3 and I still fear Chucky Dolls

Scariest movie you've ever saw and why - Maxx88 - 08-22-2009

And Freddy is FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!

Scariest movie you've ever saw and why - Friday The 13th - 08-22-2009

Yea. I had a Chucky doll once!

This is a tough one, I have seen plenty that have disturbed me to some degree, but have yet to find one that I find truly scary

True I see your point.

Scariest movie you've ever saw and why - Rosemary's Baby - 08-23-2009

I sleep like the dead, so that can't be a factor. But, I've had a few that freak me out, for a short period of time. When I was little, it was Critters. Not the scariest thing in the world, unless you're 7. More recently, the creepiest thing I can see is a kid dying. Esp. since they use little blonde headed blue eyed girls often, which I have one of those. Then, it's not scared, it's more dread.

True true. That's one thing that makes me cringe, mainly because you don't see it often.

For a good dread, watch The Bad Seed or Assault on Precinct 13 >.>

For me it would have to be the movie The Thing because it was my first R-rated movie when I was 8 and once the dog kennel scene was finished... I turned off my TV and was hit with insomnia that I am still battling today. It took me the longest time to get over it but I managed and it was the THE movie to provide a gateway to modern horror for me.

Lol, well I didn't see 'Friday the 13th' until I was around 13 and by that time 'X-Files' sort of numbed me down a little. Smile
