R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - TerrorScribe - 01-28-2010 Everyoneâs favorite creepy grandmother has just gone to the light. For older horror fans or pop culture junkies, we remember Zelda Rubinsteinâs turn as Tangina in 1982âs âPoltergeist.â Despite standing just barely above the heads of the children in the cast, she casually commanded our presence with her eerie pronouncements in a tiny, almost child-like voice: she was the Yoda of the supernatural world. Zelda Rubinstein passed on last night of a heart attack. She was 76. Following the success of âPoltergeist,â Rubinstein became a horror genre staple not only in theaters, but also on the smaller screen, most recently as the narrator on âThe Scariest Places on Earth.â Her last movie role was in one of my favorite movies, 2006âs âBehind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon.â http://www.redcarpetcrash.com/2010/01/28/r-i-p-zelda-rubinstein/ R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - Dr. Briggs - 01-28-2010 That's awful . Last I heard she was actually in bad condition, but still alive regardless. If her performances were any indication, she was a cool lady, I'll miss her R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - mary319 - 01-28-2010 I still remember her as the organist in the movie Sixteen Candles, R.I.P Zelda!!! R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - Friday The 13th - 01-28-2010 RIP. But for some reason I couldn't stand her lol. R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - Psycho Stitch - 01-28-2010 RIP she is what made the Poltergeist movie so good R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - FreddysFingers - 01-29-2010 I can say, on my end, that I am actually really sadden by this news because she seemed like a really nice person and it was always my dream to pick her up and give her a hug. She was a great woman and she became a staple in cinema history. Her role in Poltergeist has been parodied, influential and even Simpsonized. I will say that she will be dearly missed, not just by her family but by her many fans as well. We will always remember her for what she accomplished and what she has given to film. With that said, rest in peace Zelda Rubinstein. R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - PitWeston - 01-30-2010 I thought she died a while ago. Sad news. My sister and I like to quote her all the time from Poltergeist III. Quote:Kane! Give her back her family. You don't need them. You don't need Carol Anne. I can lead you into the light. I have the knowledge! And the power! that is, if I am correct on the correct phrase. R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - FreddysFingers - 01-30-2010 A lot of people are cracking the joke: She "went into the light." So wrong, but oh so funny. R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - Friday The 13th - 01-30-2010 She sure did go into the light!
R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - That_ghoul_ava - 01-30-2010 Yes, they actually announced she was taken off life support on Dec 31rst, which is why I was surprised to hear she died. I had assumed she died then, but apparently, she started to recover, but took a turn for the worst. Shame. R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - FreddysFingers - 01-31-2010 She will always be remembered for her Poltergeist role and her voice-over work. R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - DD_138 - 01-31-2010 RIP R.I.P Zelda Rubinstein - Friday The 13th - 02-05-2010 FreddysFingers Wrote:She will always be remembered for her Poltergeist role and her voice-over work.
