best horror franchise - mrblue - 03-01-2010 Halloween Friday the 13th Nightmare on elm street Texas chainsaw massacre Saw Candyman Lepercauhn phantasm Childs play Hellraiser best horror franchise - Bojangles - 03-01-2010 Nice list you have going on there. best horror franchise - FreddysFingers - 03-01-2010 I'd have to go with Phantasm because it didn't get nearly as ridiculous as the rest of the franchises. best horror franchise - Bojangles - 03-01-2010 FreddysFingers Wrote:I'd have to go with Phantasm because it didn't get nearly as ridiculous as the rest of the franchises. I love Phantasm. If they're going to make another, they need to do-so before Angus and Reggie get any older. best horror franchise - FreddysFingers - 03-01-2010 I would welcome another Phantasm movie. It's a very underrated franchise. best horror franchise - Bojangles - 03-01-2010 FreddysFingers Wrote:I would welcome another Phantasm movie. It's a very underrated franchise. I agree. best horror franchise - Dr. Briggs - 03-01-2010 I'd beg for another Phantasm movie personally; that's gotta be my pick for favorite, all got good atmosphere and each one brings something new to the table! XD Behind that I like: Puppet Master (low budget, but still very entertaining, as with most Full Moon stuff) Basket Case (only 3 movies, but each are brilliant!) Child's Play (5 movies and none truly suck!) Saw (If you consider it horror) best horror franchise - mrblue - 03-01-2010 I would consider saw horror. Phantasm wouldn't be the same without reggie or angus and they really do need to make one morejus to finsh the series best horror franchise - Friday The 13th - 03-02-2010 Nice list, Jason is my all time fave tho. best horror franchise - FreddysFingers - 03-02-2010 Mr. Briggs Inc. Personally, I think Child's Play really got hammy after a while. best horror franchise - mrblue - 03-02-2010 Childs play jumped the shark with bride of chucky. best horror franchise - FreddysFingers - 03-02-2010 mrblue Wrote:Childs play jumped the shark with bride of chucky. BIIIIIIIIG TIME!!! best horror franchise - Dr. Briggs - 03-02-2010 Personally I think horror trumps horror-comedy in most any occasion, but AS horror-comedy I think Bride and Seed jump right in without pretense and kick some serious ass. IMO part 3 was the weakest as it was kind of teetering the line between horror and comedy, not truly excelling in one or the other; still far from a bad movie though. best horror franchise - FreddysFingers - 03-03-2010 I just wish they didn't go the route they did. I would have loved to have seen more dark Child's Play movies. best horror franchise - mrblue - 03-03-2010 Hopefully the remake will they away from comedy and stay pure horror best horror franchise - FreddysFingers - 03-03-2010 We can only hope. best horror franchise - Dr. Briggs - 03-04-2010 I hope it'll be more psychological like the original was originally supposed to be like
best horror franchise - SAWfreak - 03-05-2010 In this order: SAW Halloween Friday the 13th Nightmare on Elm Street best horror franchise - Psycho Stitch - 04-12-2010 no no no Friday the 13th Phantasm Saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre Childsplay Scream best horror franchise - Trioxin149 - 04-17-2010 Well, let me break down a few franchises for everyone (my opinion) and then I'll leave you with my all time favorite.....here goes: Hellraiser 1 and 2 were the only GOOD installments in that franchise in my opinion, although 3 was tolerable, and Inferno didn't even seem like a Hellraiser movie to me. The rest, were ehh. Friday the 13th, could have been the most FUN and solid franchise, if it wasn't for Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X, those two kind of ruined it for me. And if you count F vs J, then yeah. A Nightmare on Elm Street, honestly, is very over-rated. I'll leave it at that. Child's Play 1-3 were fun, Bride of Chucky was BADASS, Seed of Chucky was a piece of shit. Halloween, well, it had some horrendous ass sequels (with the exception of part 2.) Now, those are just some of the big dogs. There are alot of other franchises out there, including SAW, which I only enjoyed part 1 and 2, and tolerated 3, didn't get into 4,5, and 6. BUT, my choice for my favorite franchise would be..... The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Part one was classic, part 2 was fun, exciting, etc. Part three, was my favorite of the sequels, and the most gritty, dirty, and dark sequel in my opinion. Part 4, I feel as if it's very under-rated for what it is. Don't see why SO many people hate it. The remake, is hands down the best remake to hit the horror world, and the prequel, can hold it's own. So there ya have it, my choice, is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. |
