A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge~Official Review~ - Maxx88 - 03-20-2010 A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge
Director: Jack Sholder Writers: David Chaskin (written by) Wes Craven (characters) Starring Mark Patton ... Jesse Walsh Kim Myers ... Lisa Webber Robert Rusler ... Ron Grady Robert Englund ... Freddy Krueger Plot Jesse Walsh and his family have moved into Nancy Thompson's old house on Elm Street. No sooner are they moved in than Jesse begins to have horrific nightmares - ones that feature a burned man in a dirty red & green sweater, with knives on the fingers of his right hand. His neighbor & new sweetheart, Lisa, discovers the truth behind Fred Krueger and his horrible murder spree. Freddy vows to take over Jesse's body to continue his vile crimes against the Elm Street residents. Soon, people close to Jesse start dying violently. Will Lisa's love for Jesse be enough to help him overpower the demonic presence inside him? Review Heâs back and heâs out for revenge! Yes, the dreaded Freddy Kruger is back in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddyâs Revenge. Taking place about five years after the first Nightmare, we have learned what actually happened at the end of it. As it turns out Nancy had went crazy and her mom ended up supposedly killing herself in the house. The movie starts off with a laugh, as you see the bus driver is played by Robert Englund. As the momentum progresses you soon realize something is wrong and it turns out the bus driver has morphed into none other than Freddy. The movie has some cheep effects, but were clever for the time, and could be improved upon as they are starting to bring AMoES back. The story itself is a little bad, but it helps to setup Freddyâs back story. One thing that they tried to do to make Freddy a little more frightening is have his claws actually coming out of his fingertips, a little cheesy in my opinion, but I can see they were trying to make him scary. This movie has one of only a few adult kills in the franchise. They tried to do another tongue effect, but again it isnât as good as the first one. This movie is more about Freddy possessing Jesse and not him killing in dreams, which I didnât like. But seeing as it was the second movie they were still trying to figure out what Freddyâs niche was. They use some references to the first Nightmare through Nancyâs diary, a clever way to bring back a character without actually hiring her again. Overall the first Nightmare was a lot better, but this one had some good characteristics that were clever for the time, Iâm glad they didnât continue on into the franchise. I give it 3.5/5 Head shots :zombie::zombie::zombie:1/2:zombie: A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge~Official Review~ - Maxx88 - 03-20-2010 Sorry it isn't as long as I wanted, that's what she said, but I've been terribly busy. But this one wasn't as good, so in my opinion doesn't deserve a long review. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge~Official Review~ - FreddysFingers - 03-21-2010 Briggs, I could not agree with you more on that subject. I love to watch a film to enjoy it the first time around but the second or third time, I love to analyze the film. Mark Patton is supposedly openly gay. Not saying thats why there were homosexual undertones, but an interesting piece of info. We still love Mark no matter what! A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge~Official Review~ - FreddysFingers - 03-22-2010 Well, I think this movie was meant to have those undertones though. Probably why he agreed to it. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge~Official Review~ - TravisLegge - 03-23-2010 Personally I am a huge fan of Freddy's Revenge. Thought it was a nifty presentation of the character as a new type of threat, though I will say I believe the scariest one in the franchise is the original, but my personal favorite is Dream Warriors. |
