Best in Category - Trioxin149 - 05-18-2010 What is everyone's favorite horror film per category? Here's mine: Zombie - Return of the Living Dead Werewolf - Silver Bullet Vampire - The Lost Boys Slasher - The Burning Remake - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Supernatural - Pet Sematary Foreign - Battle Royale Thriller - Jaws (guess it counts as a Thriller) Funny how Corey Haim made my list twice. Best in Category - Dr. Briggs - 05-18-2010 Zombie - Depends on what you consider a "zombie movie" (For examples, would Pet Sematary count? Evil Dead? The Serpent and the Rainbow? House by the Cemetary?) >.> Werewolf - The Howling Vampire - The Return of Count Yorga Slasher - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre '74 Remake - House on Haunted Hill Supernatural - Phantasm Foreign - Suspiria Thriller - First 3 Saw films, as one entity Best in Category - Trioxin149 - 05-19-2010 I wouldn't count Pet Sematary as a Zombie film, no. It was more supernatural to me, as they could be killed as normally as a human could. Poison to Gage, gunshot to Gus in part two. They eat, they sleep, and so on. So it's more of a controlled body by evil spirits. Hence, the indian burial ground. The Evil Dead would also be a tricky one as they were raised from the dead by evil spirits but I can see where some would view it as a Zombie film. I see it more as Cheese Horror haha. Good choices though! Best in Category - nobtis - 05-20-2010 Zombie - Re-Animator Werewolf - The Howling Vampire - Blade Slasher - Hmmm..... I'll have to think on that one.... Remake - Halloween Supernatural - The Frighteners Foreign - High Tension Thriller - Fright Night:reddisgust: Funny -- Return of the Living Dead harepopcorn:
Best in Category - Trioxin149 - 05-20-2010 Oh yeah, forget about the lovely comedic horror. I guess I could pick Return of the Living Dead but back then it wasn't necessarily MEANT to be funny versus now with films like Shaun of the Dead. I think for a comedic horror film I'd have to roll with Shaun of the Dead most definately. Best in Category - Dr. Briggs - 05-20-2010 Trioxin149 Wrote:Oh yeah, forget about the lovely comedic horror. I think for a comedic horror film I'd have to roll with Shaun of the Dead most definately. When I saw ROTLD, I figured it was meant to be funny, but scary at the same time... "send more paramedics"? >.> For my comedy horror flick, I'd definitely choose Basket Case, and the sequels if that's allright X). As for the zombie film if Pet Sematary and Evil Dead don't count, I'd just go for Romero's Day of the Dead; crafts a great atmosphere with great effects! I'm enjoying your list, Nobtis; Fright Night and Frighteners are two of the films that first really got me into the genre .
Best in Category - Trioxin149 - 05-20-2010 Yeah good list. Was tough for me to pick favorites. I really wanted to somehow fit The People Under The Stairs on my list but ya can't have everything now can you? And my lists generally tend to change depending on how I'm feeling and whatnot. Some days I like movies more than others. Best in Category - Dr. Briggs - 05-20-2010 Trioxin149 Wrote:And my lists generally tend to change depending on how I'm feeling and whatnot.
