Okay see if I'm alone in doing this...
after watching a horror film -
I'll have to do something once its over or I won't be able to sleep that night
If its scary - I'll have some comfort food and/or watch some comedy to get the images out of my head out of my head long enough to rest my mind body and soul :jester:
or
I'll grab my
nearest and dearest and work-it-out until the bad stuff it but a fading effect like a bad dream :lovey:or
I'll start typing at my computer with either a review, impressions or inspirations said film has left upon me - just enough -- while the emotional scars are still "healing "
Anyone else have something they seem to do after a particular type of horror film, series etc? Or have had to do - because it made that kind of "impact"?

You could call me a bit of a masochist in that respect:
Whenever a film freaks me out enough to get me to lose sleep (the last one was "Pin"), I just consider that "that one sure did its job!" and concede to stay awake until I pass out from exhaustion XD

The most I've done after seeing a scary show or movie to go to sleep was tightly hold the blankets partly over my face. It works.

I'm with u Caroline on chasing it down with some comedy.
During a film instead of covering my eyes, I cover my ears. Normally its the music that gets my heart racing. They usually put a heart pumping sound or a bass speeded up in the background. Or that freaking screeching noise like the Ring. I just put the hand muffers on and I'm good to go.

Back when I was younger I would have to watch some sort of comedy movie or sleep with some of the lights on. Took me a while to get out of that stage. Nowadays, after watching a horror movie I feel compelled to write. I'm not really sure of what, but I have to write something.

I will admit that there comes a time where I see a movie that leaves a bad taste in my mouth that I have to wash out with a comedy but that rarely happens. Can't think of the last time it happened.

The Little Girl Who Lived Down the Lane (with a young Jodi Foster)
and the original film (as the remake was funnier and in my opinion a more satisfying ending)

but that's not counting movies with certain scenes that occasionally haunt my nights...

I was 15 and for some reason watching Poltergeist again really messed with my head. But, if you want to get really technical... the trailer for The Fourth Kind left me kind of squimish.

Ill have to watch all of them over again. I think I only saw parts of poltergeist. Never saw the 4th kind.
Rosemarys baby....posession shit freaks me the ef out. I think thts why I could only watch parts of poltergeist. I can watch a slasher/gore/psycho any day...those r my favs. But a demonic/posession/haunting movie....I'm out. I need friends to sleep over and follow up with the comedy channel.
