Hi, new here - Harr3589 - 01-05-2011

Hi, a friend told me about this forum and thought I'd like it, she was right! Looks like loads of interesting topics and I'm looking forward to being a part of it. Cheers and bye for now!

I think this one's a SPAMbot too; referencing the seemingly nonsense name, a generic intro and the link to "legal music" in their public profile. Going to ban for now, but as with golf-guy, they can e-mail to prove their innocence :/

See this is partly what i am referring to about it being discouraging. If some of these bots are gonna be posting like this just to come to realize its a bot, we have not only wasted our time replying to it, but also sooner or later real people are bound to get banned for being mistaken as a bot. Which will also discourage new registrants. Most people arent going to run after Mods and Admins to get their accounts re-instated. I know for me, if i ran into a situation like that, id just be like forget it and move on to the next best thing, just based off the negligence of maintenance of these types of things in the first place. It kinda makes the forum look bad if you look at it from a bigger picture perspective.

Sorry if this may sound harsh, not trying to be. But if professionalism is valued here, then we must act like it and show it in how we maintain the boards here.

I get these kind of spambot messages all the time on my site. They usually have something very generic to say but never reference explicitly what they are commenting on. Here, I've noticed when people post a welcome thread they talk about what kind of horror they like and whatnot. To be as generic as this post is (coming onto a horror board and not even mentioning horror), it's kind of a dead giveaway. At least, to me it was.

I thought the same thing, 'Scribe, I've seen a good number myself.
