Captain America: The First Avenger - Scarecrow - 07-07-2011

I can't wait to see this film. This is the most anticipated film of the summer for me.

It opens July 22nd.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Sobriquet - 07-07-2011

I'm pretty interested in it myself. I like that they kept it in the right era too. Though I still need to see Iron Man 2 because I think they are gearing up to make the justice league by tying all of these comic heroes together. EX: Thor and Iron Man.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Scarecrow - 07-07-2011

Not the Justice League miss, The Avengers. The Justice League is a part of the DC Universe.

Captain America: The First Avenger - FreddysFingers - 07-08-2011

I can't wait too mainly because I love movies, be it sci-fi, action, horror, drama or combinations of both, that take place way back when where they truly reflect the era that was. Based on the trailer I must admit that I am really digging the production design.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Sobriquet - 07-08-2011

Oh, I don't know... That's just what my dad keeps saying. lol.

I didn't grow up with comics and couldn't tell ya.

Captain America: The First Avenger - FreddysFingers - 07-09-2011

I didn't grow up on the comic either but it looks too awesome to fail… than again I said the same thing about Transformers 3.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Sobriquet - 07-09-2011

Not impressed? lol. I was going to wait to see that one on DVD.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Scarecrow - 07-09-2011

The new Transformers film was semi-decent. I found the film to be a little boring and one of the few who didn't believe the last hour to be non-stop action.

Captain America: The First Avenger - FreddysFingers - 07-09-2011

Transformers 3 wasn't as bad as people say it is. It wasn't boring for me so much as it was keeping me on edge for half the movie. I thought it was okay, a step up from 2 but a step down from 1. The Chicago sequence was fantastic.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Scarecrow - 07-09-2011

I thought the action was good but I was pissed that a lot of people said the last hour was non-stop action and you wouldn't be able to take a breath...i took plenty of them in the last hour. I felt the last two films had more action in them then this one.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Sobriquet - 07-10-2011

See, I didn't like the first one at all because it was nothing but CG fight scenes... it felt like there was no plot and I was threatening to actually doze off in the theater. I waited for the movie channels for the second one and enjoyed it much more. So I've been kind of up in the air about whether to bother seeing the third in the theater. I figure I'll just wait.

Captain America: The First Avenger - FreddysFingers - 07-10-2011

There's your first mistake Sobry, you went into a Transformers movie, which is about giant fighting robots, looking for plot. Wink The casual moviegoer should realize that Michael Bay makes movies that have no plot, no character and no atmosphere… just shit getting blown up. I've learned to do this with all of his films so I loved the first movie. The reason why I hated the 2nd wasn't the action but the poor attempts at potty humor, racist transformers and crude sexual humor that didn't need to be in there.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Sobriquet - 07-11-2011

I didn't notice any of that in the second film. And I'm all about blowing shit up and robots fighting, but if all I see is a blur of what looks like the same action scene over and over and over again... what's the point? I'm going to take a nap. And I NEVER take naps. lol

Captain America: The First Avenger - FreddysFingers - 07-11-2011

But the first one was plain and clear that it was giant robots fighting. ._.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Sobriquet - 07-11-2011

Silly me expected a little more I guess.

Captain America: The First Avenger - FreddysFingers - 07-11-2011

I learned that lesson from a few Michael Bay movies. It's a hard less but with his movies you need to turn your brain off.

Captain America: The First Avenger - DragonBlues - 07-11-2011

We've actually taught J.T. (my 2 1/2 year old nephew) to yell, "Michael Bay EXPLOSION!" before tossing a ball at someone who isn't paying attention.

Big Grin

As for Captain America, I think it looks like it might be cool. It should, at the very least be fun. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

The summer movie I'm looking forward to most is Cowboys and Aliens. I can't help myself. LOL

Captain America: The First Avenger - FreddysFingers - 07-12-2011

Dragon, you taught your nephew very well. I couldn't have done a better job myself. In fact, I've made a memo to do so if I ever have kids. As for summer movies, I'm looking forward to Harry Potter… which will come out in a few days and then Cowboys and Aliens.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Creamy Goodness - 07-12-2011

Harry Potter is so fucking good. I just got back from seeing it.

Captain America: The First Avenger - Sobriquet - 07-12-2011

Cowboys and Aliens is definitely my look to movie right now. I can't wait.

As for Michael Bay... I didn't even know his name until you told me in this thread. But I don't pay attention to who does a movie in most instances. I know I like Spielberg and don't like Tarantino. lol
