HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET - Oldman - 09-22-2011 FROM http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com A mother (Elisabeth Shue) and daughter (Jennifer Lawrence) move in to a new community and find themselves next door to a house with a terrible past. Years ago, in a notorious incident, a psychotic young girl murdered her parents. While the locals insist the girl vanished after the brutal murders, the new arrivals quickly discover the sinister houseâs story is far from over... and the daughter may become part of its dark legacy.
RELEASE DATE April 20, 2012

CURRENT STATUS Post-Production Filmed in Ottawa, Canada. Originally had a February 12th 2012 theatrical release. Relativity Media will distribute the film in the US. Director Mark Tonderai also worked on the 2009 UK road thriller Hush. Producer Aaron Ryder had this to say about the project: "We believe this will be to Psycho what Disturbia was to Rear Window, but with the addition of a strong female lead." The project is being described as "a thriller in the vein of Psycho, aimed at a contemporary young audience." Based on a story by Jonathan Mostow.
HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET - FreddysFingers - 09-22-2011 Although it's nice to see Elisabeth Shue back in the acting saddle, these movies sound like they should have been direct to DVD fares. HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET - Dr. Briggs - 09-22-2011 Jonathan Mostow should be rewriting and pitching his own short film Dr. Dobermind instead of cheapening Psycho by making the horror film's premise star a teen girl who ain't afraid of nothin'. Admittedly, I liked Disturbia more than Rear Window, but that's because I found Rear Window overrated as hell; apply the Disturbia formula to a great movie, and the Disturbia version is not gonna compete. Now Dr. Dobermind, that was an interesting short that could benefit from a longer version with higher production values (hell, even making it be like Disturbia could turn out interesting). I would personally love to ask Mr. Mostow how he came up with that idea and where he was trying to go with it back in 1985.
