Hi everyone!
I have a hard time finding new movies or old ones I haven't seen yet because I am kind of a purist. I am constantly looking for a real horror movie, something actually scary and it is really hard to find people with the same tastes who I can talk with and go to for recommendations. Every time I get recommended nothing but b-movie, exploitation, comedies, action, sci-fi etc I get recommended everything except what I'm looking for.
Are there any purists on here?
I do have some exceptions to my tastes but they are so few and far between it isn't worth mentioning and almost all of those exceptions are really old anyway 80s-90s. I want to find some movies that are actually scary, that were intended to be scary not to shock/disturb/laugh at. I guess it's like when you want hot sauce, you look for hot sauce and the entire world tries to recommend you a bbq sauce or ketchup that they consider spicy but is mild at best. I don't want and am not looking for the bbq sauce. I'm dying for a serious horror movie, a good story that is intended to scare people.
Not only am I looking for horror movies that are not mixed with other genres but I'm looking for other horror purists I can talk horror with. It would be really nice if I could find that. Am I the only one with this problem?
