Dowsing Rods - Rosemary's Baby - 02-24-2009 Taking it back old school, I like to use dowsing rods. You don't have to worry about the batteries going dead. :esnicker: Most people have heard that they can be used to find water. You can also use a pair to ask simple yes or no questions. I have used them with some success. The first time I used them was at a family get together when I was 12. The adults couldn't believe they would work for me. But, as they would ask questions that I couldn't possibly know the answers to, and get them right, they became more wary. My dad was very disbelieving, to the point that he wrap his hands around mine, nearly to the point of pain, to keep me from moving my hands to create the answers. It in no way hindered the movement of the rods. Now, we were at my aunt's 100+ year old farm house, which is supposedly haunted. So, I really can't tell you if the answers come from ghosts or energy or something else entirely. I'm not a firm believer in a lot of things. All I can say is that dowsing rods give you some food for thought. Has anyone else used dowing rods? Dowsing Rods - Friday The 13th - 02-24-2009 I heard about them, but I myself have never tried using them. Dowsing Rods - Rosemary's Baby - 02-24-2009 It is really simple. The one's I use are metal bent at a 90 degree angles. Clothes hangers work perfect. Cut of the hook and one short side. Hold them loosely side by side. Ask a question. If they cross, the answer is "yes". If they spread apart, "no". Parallel is the start position. If you're having a good night, you can get them to answer, then swing back to the start position. If you're having a bad night, they move pointlessly in whatever direction. Try it sometime. Hey it's no worse than Bloody Mary or light as a feather stiff as a board. conf: And I think we've all done those at some point in time:esnicker:

Grandma hangs around here sometimes, so she helps. BTW, I'm not sure if I would risk trying them at a scary place. You know, Covenanter Cemetery type stuff. I think using things of this nature, along with Ouija Boards & seances, leave you open to things that may be there. It wouldn't be good to use them when there may be a bad presence.
