Though she was a beast with Paul, I think when faced with someone crazier than her (Yeh, I'd say Jack is crazier) the "innocent little lady" part of her personality would get scared to the surface and Jack would tear her up.

Well Jack was normal in the beginning... Gradually the hotel and isolation turn him ga ga.
Annie was crazy for a longer period of time therefore would have more time to manifest her craziness!

I think it depends entirely on who's element we are in. If we are in the Overlook, I'd say that Jack could easily overcome Annie because he's possessed and the ghosts/spirits are on his side. Now, if we put Jack in Annie's home I'd say that he would be scared because he'd be a normal guy. However, paying attention to Jack's personalty both in the book and the film he seems like a person who is a little unstable so if provoked I think he could still overcome Annie. Then again, she could always drug is drink but I think Jack is a stronger character both physically and mentally (to a point).

Jack had more room to work with - over the hotel itself, the grounds (including the freaky maze) wanting to off his family and had to lug that awkward ax around - has anyone tried to pick one of those things up???

It's really based on whether the fight takes place in their own element. Still, I find Jack to be a lot more improvisational when it comes to finding weapons.

Very, VERY good question Bong. I'm sort of leaning more towards the fact that the hotel made him think that he had "hair of the dog." I feel that if that were true it would only add to the power the hotel possesses.
