hellraiser 3: Region 1 Special Edition - Dr. Briggs - 04-13-2009
When someone talks of the hellraiser series, horror fans minds think of the box, the creatures who promise pleasure and bring pain... When someone talks of special editions, the movie buff thinks of the special features, commentaries by filmmakers and "makings-of".
It is horrifically ironic because of this, that while the classic Hellraiser and it's worthy sequel in fact focused on said pandora's box of terror, that the second sequel would in fact skulk away with this notion and instead focus on said creatures simply taking over a city. That is not to say that I do not enjoy "Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth", but simply a foreshadowing of the irony yet to come.
For whilst both the first and second movies recently delivered worthy special editions including the aforementioned "special edition" things, the "special edition" of Hellraiser 3, which, out-of-print, cost me around 25 dollars, promised special features, but in reality tore my soul apart with disappointment. Despite prominently reading SPECIAL EDITION on the cover, this is probably one of the worst DVDs I own.
The look: Muddy cover art, flimsy feeling case, and overall bad presentation.
The rundown: still menu, 8 chapter selection, cut version of the film. Only special feature: cast and crew bios, of about 5 people in the movie.
If you live in England, consider yourself lucky that you guys have an actual special edition of this film, along with the first two, still in print, most likely uncut... If you live in the US... buyer beware.

Lol...special edition? What a ploy to get people to buy the dvd....I'm sure they will eventually re-release it like the first two. I hope so anyways. Still been meaning to get the anniversary editions.

I didn't know there were anniversary editions. I only knew of the original films anniversary edition, which I have also been meaning to pick up. You can snag it for a cheap price.
