Tip 1: Adjusting the settings on your TV. Turn sharpness and contrast all the way down. Turn color all the way up. Turn brightness to about 3/4 of the way up (don't worry, it'll look darker with the glasses on). Put the other settings in the middle. Although the picture won't be crystal clear like in the theater, this will almost completely eliminate ghosting and give a genuine feeling of depth.

Tip 2: Positioning. move your TV so that it is angled away from any glare. Glare and anything stuck to your screen (dirt, smears etc.) are the eternal enemy of 3D. Make sure your seating is a good distance away from your TV. I know you want the feeling of having it right in your lap. But this type of 3D looks better from farther away (although people with smaller TVs might want to sit a little closer than someone with a big screen).

Tip 3: Lighting. As I said above, glare is the eternal enemy of 3D. Watch this film at night or under dim lighting conditions. The darker your room, the better it will look.

There you're all set. As I said, the picture won't be crystal clear. But that is a necessary sacrifice in the name of 3D entertainment. Enjoy and may all your Valentines be bloody.
