Winterborne Monkton, England, United Kingdom (AHN) -- The Guinness Book of World Records is recognizing a British man who has been delivering newspapers for 68 years.
Ted Ingram, 90, is in the process of being certified as the world's longest-serving paper delivery boy, according to Guinness record officials.
According to Guinness researchers, Ingram, of Winterborne Monkton, England, started delivering papers in 1942. Since then, he has taken only two vacations and one leave of absence because of medical reasons.
In a statement Ingram said he began delivering papers during the second World War to supplement his income and has stuck with it ever since because he loves his job.
The current record is held by Darlyne Markus from Idaho who started delivering in 1958 until 2008, Guinness reported.
