NicoleMayCanadayLet the Right One In (Swedish) 2008

Zzzzzzzzzz

Don't get me wrong, I love me a good blood sucking vampire movie. But really? Really?

Rented this bad boy on netflix. My god, I had to stop the DVD 3 times to get laundry and talk on the phone to just bring more entertainment to my night. Swedes should stick to what they are good at, furniture and meatballs.

Sigh....I hope netflix delivers me something fun this week after that sleeper...

I thought it was pretty good. You definitely should have watched a subbed version, preferably the version that has the theatrical subtitles. Also, "she" was originally a boy, if I remember correctly.

The only version you can find in stores is the dubbed version. And you can always just wait till October for the American remake Let Me In.

I think I'd rather gnaw off my own head before watching something dubbed. Not that I'm some kind of foreign film snob, but 90% of the time the voice acting is horrible.

When I first watched this, I couldn't even make it through the first 20 minutes of it. It was just so... slow... I decided I'd just try it again some other time. I'm really glad I gave it a second chance though. I really enjoyed it... once I got past the slow beginning.

And Bo's right - that's not little girl cookie. Remember, heap many moons ago, there was a practice in Europe to castrate young boys to preserve a high singing voice. What you saw was the scar.

Maybe we should put a spoiler tag on this thread for those who haven't seen the movie.
Just sayin'.

It seems like the best subbed version is the one with Theatrical Subs. I wanted the movie, so I began looking for it online. On eBay, people were claiming that version is rare and thus charging more for it. I remember seeing it at ONE of the Wal-Marts around here, so I checked there before ordering it. Guess what version I got Big Grin. The one with the theatrical subs. Fuck that dubbed shit.

That's okay. I've seen my share of foreign horror movies that everyone else seems to enjoy, but I can't figure out why.

A Tale of Two Sisters busted my balls.

I found the subbed version easy... o.O

Found it!
LOL @ Swedes should stick to what they are good at, furniture and meatballs!

It wasn't that bad... I came into it not knowing anything about it. Guessed halfway through it was a vampire flick! Not your typical horror film...

It was definitely different and original.

Some people have claimed this is a coming of age movie that has vampires. That's how I am going to go in watching it.

The scene were he cracks the bully across the face with a stick... I got to say. I think it is a great scene. The satisfaction the kid must have felt.

I finally saw it and yes, it is quite slow and very boring. It has very little scares and it seems like the vampire thing is sort of a side story. I see it as a drama rather than horror. It wasn't bad but... it does get quite boring at times.

HAHA!! It was a great coming of age movie and I'm sure historians will see the vampire girl as sort of... the aggressive nature the boy represses. Still, I think it could have been less somber.
