Want a way to instantly repel me from a movie? Just have M. Night Shyamalan’s name tagged onto it. I had a glimmer of hope for him until I actually saw that rancid accident of filmmaking they called “The Last Airbender”. He’s used up any good will I may have had for him. In my opinion, he’s finally made his decent into the Uwe Boll-level of Hell that Dante mercifully left out of his Divine Comedy. I would be hard pressed to find myself willing showing up for another of his offensive crapfests.

At least as long as he’s in the director’s chair.
Producing, apparently, is another matter.

I don’t know why, but this trailer for the upcoming “Devil” – describes as “From the mind of M. Night Shyamalan”, but is directed by John Dowdle – intrigues me. I’m not quite sure why. A group of people trapped in an elevator and one of them isn’t what they seem to be. Old and busted? Maybe but again, I found it interesting. Maybe he’s less likely to fuck up a movie once he’s out of the big chair. Here’s to hoping.

coming from a girl who works on the 21st floor of a highrise....gulp....MOMMY!!!!!!

...and to let you all know how cool and hip I am, M. Knight came to my high school and showed us Praying With Anger back in the day. (I'm from PA). I thought he was a very excellent director....when I was 16.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of claustrophobic settings either. With MNS's involvement, I'm cautiously optimistic about this - despite the fact that I'm pretty sure he could fuck up a wet dream.

I'm rather excited about this movie. I'm a sucker for claustrophobic movies so long as the director knows how to create the tension.

I am also excited about this (ie. my signature) and I am a fan of claustrophobic movies and I think the concept of this one is really unique. M Night seems to always have unique concepts for his movies. I wonder if he has put in a classic twist at the end? Also from the trailer it is hard to tell WHO is the "devil" and what is really happening in that elevator, which I like from a good horror trailer - suspense and lack of give aways before seeing a flick. I also appriciate the fact that he has steered away from remaking an old movie and the 3D gimmick.

I am still wondering who the devil is though... can't wait to see!

Looks lame. And of course there's gonna be a twist ending. What horror movie nowadays DOESN'T have a "twist" ending. I'm pretty one of security gaurds who's watching them from the security cameras. In one the tv spots they've been showing you can see him chanting some weird religion crap.

I really feel bad for M. Night. I hope his Night Chronicles are his Britney come back. Minus the lace teddy.

I don't think it's going to be lame at all Blue. In fact, I would rather see this movie regardless of whether or not it sucks then sit through another half-ass remake of a classic horror film. Bring on the twist. Even if it's cliche... would you rather have a remake of Leprechaun 1, 2 and 3 as well as a crossover between Leprechaun and Snoop Dogg?

A Leprechaun remake wouldn't be so bad.

Okay... and what if they got Tony Cox to play the Leprechaun and they told him to 'act the way you were in Disaster Movie?

(Yes I know Cox was in Leprechaun 2 but that's besides the point)
