I can't help but think one way to define scary is how far video games and thus "enjoyment" of said games has advanced...
or does anyone else remember Castle with that seahorse looking Dragon?

I haven't played the first two but they look good. Doom 3 was pretty scary. Some of the demons were so freaky like the spider ones. Yes, the original Resident Evil was great, I never played it but my friend had it and I would come over to his house and try to help him get through the levels. Silent Hill was also very terrifying which is why I enjoyed the movie to a degree; it really nailed the atmosphere of the game. I haven't even heard of the last two games but I am bummed that they didn't include Bioshock or House of the Dead.

I need to get Doom 3 for Xbox. I had it for PC and didn't really even play it that much. I remember it was awesome when the shit started to hit the fan, though. That scientist was flipping out and when the lights flashed a whole bunch of symbols would appear on the walls. That was sweet.
I always wanted the original Silent Hill, but was never able to get a hold of it. I do have Silent Hill 2 and never finished it. I didn't really like it for some reason.
I am a huge Resident Evil fan. Those games are bad ass and my favorite game mentioned in the list.

I had Doom 3 on the PC too. Those fucking upside down head spiders and that general guy that was fused to the tank, that shit was freaky!!
