The rise of the "hoodie horror" has been a movie phenomenon over here in Britain, with films like Eden Lake and Cherry Tree Lane enjoying immense popularity.
Myself, I am not too keen on them, as I find them all too much like real life, given the fact that hoodies actually ARE a growing menace in today's society.
What do YOU all think of hoodie horror movies? Do you enjoy them, or do you share my own views on them?

What is Hoodie Horror? I've never heard of it.

I haven't yet watched Eden Lake, but with what little I know on the subject at the moment, I'd say it's not "objectionable" in any way considering several filmmakers have gotten horror film plots from real issues.
Sometimes this method creates great films, sometimes it creates lazy rehashes of headlines, but either way, something being too close to home doesn't sound like a make or break thing to me; in fact, I'd theorize that relating an uneasy issue in a truly scary way can be a good thing, something to help spur people into trying to make things better.
âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ

Clockwork Orange is an older version of Hoodie Horror.

So I take it, Hoodie Horror are British movies based on real events?

Since I've never really scene that many hoodie horror movies, I can't really comment on whether they are disturbing or not.

I really like hoodie horror. I enjoyed Eden Lake and Cherry Tree Lane quite a bit. I do appreciate a bit of savage nature played out well. F was another I thought more than hit the standard.
