Do you all like portmanteau horror movies?
By "portmanteau," I mean the ones that have different stories, like Vault of Horror and Torture Garden.

Man, I thought I knew all the sub-genres in horror but I guess not. So "portmanteau" is anthology?

I like them a lot. I'm not big into kitsch anymore, but the 60s-80s anthologies just have a charm I cannot deny. On top of that, it's hard to find one where every story is a loser, so you can usually count on at least one enjoyable "short story" when you sit down to watch an anthology
âThe Fright Night remake is a film which taps into the audienceâs deepest rooted fears, such as those of vampires throwing motorcycles at them. I dread the thought of a vampire throwing a refrigerator or a deskjet printer or... Iâd better stop before I give myself nightmaresâ

The only anthology horror movies I know are from the 80's and they are pretty much the obvious. Was never a fan of Trilogy of Terror but it's sequel is fun to watch.

For some older anthology gems, check out Tales from the Crypt (1974), Torture Garden, and Asylum (1972)

I do like the portmanteau horrors. I think a lot of the ones I favor are from Amicus. The House The Dripped Blood and From Beyond The Grave I enjoy especially. Both feature Peter Cushing, which is fabulous for me! I just adore Diana Dors in From Beyond The Grave though... she's just another English great.

All of the films mentioned are great but lets not forget Trilogy of Terror! That Zuni Hunter Doll Creeped me out years ago. A friend of mine bought one for me a few years ago at a con and i still find myself looking to see if the chain is still around his waist!
