George from the original Amityville Horror
#1
Is it just me, or did James Brolin really fit the part? He just looked like he would be a major asshole, definitely one you wouldn't want to be living with in the Amityville house, thats for sure.

I really liked that movie. Although, I found Lois Lane a little annoying. (Margot Kidder did not sink into the role.) James Brolin played the part very well. He played going nuts believably. There's something about his eyes... I've also read the book. Even more entertaining. And, for those of you with ADD, very short. It's only about 250 pages or so. Anyone that hasn't seen the original movie should. Not the new one, the old one. Or else George will come and kick your butt, 1979 style.Punch Smile

The original was best of course. As far as James Brolin not fitting the part Im not really sure of but In Search Of in the 70's had done an episode about The Amityville Horror and George Lutz looked exactly like Ron DeFeo so much they could have been twins. I dont know whether a hoax was perpetrated or not but it's a damn scary story. Also when the little girl was in one of the rooms she would sing if she was called out of the room when she came back in she would pick up where she left off to the word
Torture is only truly pleasurable when performed.....slowly----The Machine Girl

james brolin give a strong performance in the movie, was he the right choice for the role at the time? i can't think of a better actor than doing it nor now, but i do see and respect your rather interesting point he had certain asshole-ishness lol to him early in the movie
