Dimension Films has announced that a sequel to Piranha 3D is officially in the works. The film garnered decent reviews, however, grossed $10 million during its opening weekend. Those who have seen the film know it leaves the door wide open for a sequel. So, be prepared for Piranha 3D: The Sequel.Piranha 3D producer Mark Canton stated, "We are thrilled that audiences are not just loving Piranha 3D, but cheering for it. And itâs fantastic that so many critics are really getting the movie and recommending it. We can't wait to get to work on the sequel."No word yet if Alex Aja is returning to the director's chair. --shocktillyoudrop.com

It was awful. Just awful. I expected something other than pure shit. I wanted some substance to it and not just cameos from the people they advertised so promptly.

The movie played it up its B-movie status perfectly. I didn't go in to the theaters expecting something with great acting and compelling storyline. I expected a swarm of Piranha's eating annoying Spring Breakers and that is exactly what I got.
I think a sequel is probably a bad idea, but when there is money involved it always seems to sound like a great one producers.

I think I'll wait for this to go on DVD, or perhaps the 4 dollah bin at wal-mart?
River Monsters sounds more entertaining.
I'll go back to day dreaming about the San Diego spring breakers that I kill in my head. That reminds me, where can I buy a goliath tigerfish around here????

MBV was campy, entertaining and bloody. Why? Because it had characters, as ham-handed as they were, I cared for. It had substance! It didn't rely only on tits and ass to keep the viewer interested. Also, the cameos were a little greater in that movie than Piranha. The characters sucked and they didn't show enough of the ones I wanted to see. It was a swing and a miss.

Well, I thought it was kinda funny (but I'll never vouch for my own sense of humor):
