Psycho StitchMachete Picked Up By Fox
#1
After a bidding war between 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate and Paramount, Fox won domestic rights to Robert Rodriguez's Machete. The feature length film based on the trailer that appeared before Grindhouse has been the most anticpated film to come out based on those trailers. Hopefully thanks to Fox we will be able to see this one soon now.

The film was directed by Robert and his longtime editor Etan Maniquis. Machete is a deranged Mexican ex-Federale with a gift for using a Blade. He ends up being double crossed by a crooked American State Senator and turns to his Machete to get justice.

Now, remember: you don't aim a gun at a man unless you intend to shoot him. And, you don't shoot a man unless you intend to kill him. No warning shots. Hey, you listening to me? No warning shots. Warning shots are bullshit. You shoot to kill, or you don't shoot at all.

Robert Rodriguez has been chatting it up at SXSW and CinemaBlend has a few details direct from the filmmaker’s mouth. First off, Robert says that he always tells people that Sin City 2 is “right around the corner, because that’s what everybody wants to hear” but admits that “It might be a long corner.” I’m pretty convinced that a sequel won’t happen until Miller has no other film options, and is forced to return to the franchise.

Robert went on to insist that the long talked about feature length version of Machete will happen, and that he’s “got the script” and is “ready to go”. I’ll believe it when I see it.

The most interesting quote to leave Rodriguez’s mouth was in regards to his next project Neveracker, the sci-fi action film that was announced in February — “I used to say it was, it’s kind of like Blade Runner, but that was Blade Walker. This is Blade Runner.” Wow, just Wow. I’m pretty sure he didn’t intend to slam Blade Runner, but those are strong words. If this film comes out and is another Spy Kids, he’ll also be eating them.

The Punch Drunk Critics invaded Horrorfind this weekend, and in between the ghouls, ghosts, and demons we managed to snag a few minutes with cult icon, Danny Trejo. Not only was he extremely nice, a stark contrast to a lot of the harder edged roles he's played over the years in films like From Dusk Til Dawn and Desperado, but he also gave us some sweet info on Machete, Sin City 2, and Robert Rodriguez's Predators! We also managed to get a few minutes with Kristina Klebe, who most will recognize from Rob Zombie's Halloween a couple of years ago. She's got some projects coming down the pipe that sound hella interesing as well, so check it out and let us know what you think!
